Quantum Break is a proof that a good script is not enough to save a game.

The first impression of whoever comes across the game is: this will probably be spectacular! Unfortunately, over the course of the hours of play, that feeling, instead of increasing, fades. What remains is a disappointment and that bitter taste of lost opportunity.
Quantum Break has all the ingredients to be a successful game: a relatively interesting story, a set of experienced actors whose faces are already familiar to the public, a reasonable soundtrack, great graphics. But what really jumps to the sights is his audacious bet: to produce an intersection between two medias, games and television series. Between each chapter played there is a small episode that continues the plot experienced by the player, the decisions chosen during the gameplay has some influence on the scripts of the chapters but nothing spectacular. The television series is rather mediocre, nothing like the classic science fiction productions. That's where the problem begins in Quantum Break: everything seems too generic, without a soul that is its own and, for a game that really seeks to differentiate itself by presenting something new, to be generic is perhaps the worst of scenarios.
It is impossible that we do not touch the worst of the whole game, the terrible optimization of the port for PCS. Even on a GTX1080 - the second fastest card of the Maxwell generation - the game suffers to maintain 60fps at 1440p and sometimes even at 1080p. This issue cannot be minimized, that performance is terrible compared to other AAA games released around the same time. Those performance issues are so huge that they often affect the user experience and make you on several occasions ask: Is it really worth it? If you like science fiction, especially stories about time travel, and want to experience a game with good graphics, Quantum Break is a good request but nothing wonderful. The Xbox One release game looks like to suffer from the same melancholy ending that seems to be reserved for the Microsoft console.

Historical Roots

The year is 1996. The games industry had already been presented to games like DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D but Quake take the experience of first person shooters to another level. The Game inserts you into an environment full of darkness and fallen demonic beings – all of them willing to kill you, off course. You walk – or run – by yourself through dark and scary corridors solving puzzles, pressing buttons, dodging bullets and escaping from traps. Each new area guards a new surprise and, most of the time, you going to fell relieve when you find the last portal and complete the stage.

Why play Quake nowadays? It’s simple, no one could truly respect the FPS genre without knowing his history and his historical development process. To play Quake is a prior condition for anyone who wants to set himself up as a gamer. 21 years after his debut the game remains fun and challenging – try the nightmare difficult – the sounds are iconic and, of course, the gameplay is remarkable. There’s no present without history and there’s no history without the present. Just play.

Lifeless Planet is a tale about loneliness. The game brings out one of our most important feelings - auto-survival - and makes us think about the limits of our human-hood, the end give us a sense of mystery which complete this tale. Alongside an awesome soundtrack, the voice actions and the dialogues - even in Russian - are pretty good and make this a game that worth to be played.

But there are some bad points that need to be highlighted. First, the game is small, something like 4-5 hours is enough to beat the history. The're are some problems also with the controllers and the way that the puzzles are designed. Those are problems but nothing that can block you to enter in this world and experiment this journey through this lifeless planet.

Black Mesa is an Homage to one of the greatest games of all time and an ode to the nostalgia.

The game is not just a simple recreation of one of the bests games of all time, it's a totally new redesigned world which brings the player back to the corridors and puzzles of the Black Mesa Facility. If you played the first Half Life you probably will find some of yours favorite scenes and dynamics. The new source engine - with the addition of physics - bring a new level of dynamics and adds a lot of possibilities in gameplay terms. It's a "must have" if you enjoy first person shooters.
