TL;DR Tedium personified.
You collect 'item A' by holding down the E button for what seems like an eternity, refine 'item A' into 'item B' to power one of the myriad of power bars in the game, rinse and repeat over a handful of vaguely different planets. I've reinstalled this game at least three times since the horrific launch, and I'm glad a lot of people enjoy it now but the game is just *bad*.
