Admittedly, when I started playing this game, I didn't have high hopes for it. In a wide galaxy, you play as a human named Shepard, who saves the galaxy and either makes everyone feel bad about how awful they are, or punches everyone in the face. Either way, it's a win/win situation.

It's region based open world, which means a lot of the time you will be running around the map trying to find a fast travel spot, but that's the fun part. You get to see a LOT of planets, drive a Mako (probably flip it and be unable to get up a mountain with it), and have aliens join your entourage.

As the first game in the franchise, the graphics leave a little to be desired, but it makes up for that with it's combat, storyline, and heartbreaking decisions.

All in all, Mass Effect is one of my favorite games, and it's always nice to return to the foundation of the series and make a new Shepard, new choices, and find a new love interest.

It took me, admittedly, way too long to think of a good review for this game. I owned it on console before I managed to get it for PC, so I've had a fairly long experience with this game.

This was the first BioWare game I had ever played, and while it took me a while to get really into it (I didn't own it at first so I didn't have much time for immersion), it's one of my favorite games. You get to play as 16 different combinations of class, race, and gender, each personalizing your intro sequence and every interaction you get to be apart of in the game. Not to mention you get to make your Hero look however you wish to.

It may seem like a run of the mill 'save the world, kill some things' game, but it's a lot deeper than that. You're brought into a world where every choice you make has an affect on another aspect.

All in all, I love this game to bits, and while after playing the other games in the series it may get pretty tedious to play through Origins again, it's always nice to return to the roots of the franchise and see how far the series has come.
