So I redownloaded this game after a year or so and was surprised to see that ALL BUT 1 VANILLA MAP suddenly required me to have different DLCs to start a game on. That and now I need the Paradox launcher.

I seriously hope it was a mistake on my end because if Paradox is THAT egregious in their business practices they can go fit a skyscraper up their backsides. I'm willing to pay for the lube DLC.

Game's a lot of fun if you're looking for a relaxing experience. I've honestly been looking for a game like Hydroneer for a long time.
My favourite feature is the in game stock market. It's a really cool addition which brings some diversity in what the player will produce, instead of always crafting the item with the highest selling rate over and over.

There are some legitimate problems that I've had with this game, which hindered my experience by a bit:

-The controls are a bit weird. For example, to fill in a bucket with a shovel, you need to left click the bucket with the shovel equipped. The problem is that you might end up dumping your dirt through the bucket, and end up raising the ground instead. I think a secondary action button could fix those kind of cases.

-I'm running the game on a 4790k and 1070. There is a significant drop in framerate, but it's still playable.

-Maybe I'm blind, but I don't think there is a way to access your settings without going back to the main menu right now

-The in game physics are really wonky sometimes. Some items will just fly away kinda randomly.

Overall, while those things are problematic, they don't shatter the fun part of the game, which is why I still chose to recommend it. It's not a perfect product for sure, but in my opinion, it's worth the money.

In 2018 I've seen games that had worse gameplay. I've seen games that had worse music and sound, I've seen games that had worse line deliveries, I've seen games be a lot more unfunny, and I've seen games that were simply empty.

If you're a diehard fan of Duke Nukem, you've seen this game since day 1. You maybe already bought or checked out the game and made your mind. This review won't change what you think. If you've waited 14 years for this, yes, I understand how big the disappointment is/was.

But if you're someone that hasn't played the old duke nukem, someone that hasn't waited for this title to come back, then I don't think this is a bad game. It's not the best game ever made, far from it, but we've seen games with more flaws come out in the recent years, and while Duke Nukem Forever is really far from perfect, I really can't consider it a bad game. It can be a good experience today.

Early Access Review
The pros:

-It's really fun, the gunplay feels dynamic and takes just the right amount of realism that it needs not to feel heavy. Aiming with the weapons is also really easy, and as a left handed player I still didn't feel at a disadvantage.

-The guns are usually quite fun to use, only the shotguns feel a bit weak compared to the others.

-Playing offline is still quite a good experience that can be taken very casually.

The cons:

The menus are quite hell to play around with

-Switching hands requires a game restart, which kind of sucks if I have friends over, we'll be forced to change that setting constantly.

-Not really a con but there's a full empty room in the spawn where the tutorial is, and when that's the first thing you see in the game, it might give you a little bit of a bad impression.

-The movement is really not always enjoyable, thinking mostly about dropping off a balcony or going down/up stairs

-I'm not sure if this happens often but the floor seems a little too high and I was not able to get an item that feel to the ground, even though my Vive room setup was correctly done and the problem wasn't there in other games

Overall those pro and cons are mostly a comparison of Pavlov with Onward. Onward really is more realistic and as a result the gameplay is slowed down a lot more, while the gameplay in Pavlov feels way faster. I think both Pavlov and Onward are worth the buy and will offer two really different experiences.

Pavlov VR is not the type of game that will blow your mind, but it's a fun experience and I sincerely hope the game will keep receiving updates in the future and fully exploit all the potential it has.

If you own a VR device I really recommend picking this up

The game has some issues, mostly the grip function on the Vive, it personally didn't hurt me but it wasn't comfortable to hold weapons sometimes. But it is still an intense experience.

Now dear devs please, for the love of Elune's armpits and everything else, do not abandon this keep and keep supporting it with more map content, or/and release a Dev tool and a workshop. I can't speak about the length of the game but I see a lot of people complaining about it, and overall playing custom levels would be insanely good

Also as a left handed person, I can tell for every single left handed buyer, this guy won't cause any issues

TLDR this game is only missing workshop support and an option for holding weapons differently for vive users

I'm Adam Jensen and this is my In-Game shop. I buy ammo here with my old man, and my son, David Sarif, and in 5 years, I've learned one thing. You never know WHAT you're never gonna ask for.
