The best narrative in a VR game so far, outstanding even compared to most flat screen games. VR mechanincs-wise it is a bit lacking, but luckily it does't take away much from the experience.

It is definitely worth playing, and hopefully we will see more experiences like this in the future.

BONEWORKS is the first long single-player game, that truly showcases the potential of immersive storytelling in VR.
The detailed physics system allows for more freedom in approaching a gameplay situation, than any game before.
However, unfortunately the game lacks a well thought out checkpoint/save system which makes dying an infuriating experience. On top of that, currently it's riddled with game breaking bugs (falling through the level, getting stuck in geometry etc.) that make restarting from a far away checkpoint even worse.

Regardless, it's a superb experience that no VR player should miss out on.


EDIT: A new checkpoint system is in the works, and many bugs have already been fixed, so by February probably all of my major complaints will be resolved. :)

EDIT 2: Since my last edit, the game has grown significantly. There are new levels, modes, weapons etc. The fact that the developers keep evolving the game even though it was great to begin with, is admirable. I'm looking forward to more updates, and eagerly wait for their next project.

Spec Ops: The Line is a truly brilliant storytelling experience, among the best of all military games and even movies. The only thing for me that hinders it from being a real masterpeace is the overwhelming amount of shooting, which in certain scenarios completely undermines the otherwise excellent story. Obviously in a military shooter there should be lots of shooting, but in this case it was simply too much.

Still, it is absolutely worth buying if you are interested in story-driven games.

Bár a grafikája eléggé egyszerű, a repülés élménye ezt könnyedén kárpótolja.
Mindenképpen érdemes előbb-utóbb beruházni rá, ha van az embernek egy vive-ja.
