Actually one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life.

Hi-Fi Rush to me is a reminder of what feeling pure joy when playing a video game feels like. From the extremely expressive animations, very memorable characters, banging soundtrack, all the way to the gameplay itself. This game is my Perfect Drug, a 1000000/10, In A Blink it climbed my favorite games of all time list and sits comfortably up there with the likes of God Hand.

I've nothing more to say, not just my GOTY 2023, but my favorite game ever made. If you haven't played it, PLAY IT, if you haven't bought it, BUY IT, give them millions of dollars so I can have more games like this in the future.

After 13 painful years since the release of Black Knight, this series is finally saved for me with Sonic Frontiers.

Soul Hackers 2 may be one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. Developed by Atlus, most known for series like Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, these guys know how to make a good JRPG and even make someone like me who's not a fan of the genre interested in them. Soul Hackers 2 is not a step forward, its 20 steps back that comes with a price.

Big AAA budget game?
First things first, this game is short. REALLY short. It took me 44.5 hours for 100% completion which also includes a second playthrough. This wouldn't have been a problem if game had a reasonable pricing, but for $90 dollars its straight up mental. What do you get with a full package?
- You get few costumes, none of which can be worn outside of battles and don't tell me to download a mod because that's not an official part of the game.
- You get battle soundtrack from other Atlus games which is whatever.
- You get iconic demons from Megaten ser- wait, WHY THE HELL ARE DEMONS LOCKED BEHIND A PAYWALL!? And why is one of them only available in Premium Edition?
- You get a "story expansion", but compared to the likes of Labyrinth Of Amala from SMT3, The Answer from P3FES, Marie and Kasumi from P4G/P5R this is a side mission quality expansion that's not connected with the main plot so its absolutely a filler. You don't even get to control the new party member, she's only available in missions related to her expansion, and even there you get to use her maybe 2 or 3 times in total.
- You get boosters, in case you don't want to play a game you paid for.

Why even bother? May as well just go out and buy other Megaten games on Steam, you could literally buy both P4G/P5R at once and still save $10 instead of buying SH2 Premium, not to mention both of which are bundled with all DLCs. Even Nocturne was a better deal.

Awful design choices
When people say dungeon design is bad, they're not being sincere enough. They're not bad. They're bloody awful. Terrible, TERRIBLE dungeons. After this game I doubt many will go back to P3 and complain at Tartarus. What makes them so bad?
- Large, wide, empty, hollow.
- They all reuse the same music. How. The. Hell. Did. This. Happen? Even Tartarus and Labyrinth of Amala had variations of their theme, but Soul Hackers 2 just plays the exact same song over and over again. These games usually have killer soundtracks, but this game can't even play a different dungeon music? Get out of here.
- There are no puzzles whatsoever, you search for demons which hold key items you'll need to progress and that's as deep as it goes..... actually no, there's one much worse thing they could call a puzzle, it's.....
- TELEPORTERS! I HATE TELEPORTERS. Someone thought it'd be really funny to sprinkle them across dungeons and teleport you all over the place, forcing you to run back and forward until you memorize which teleporter out of 50 is gonna take you to the right place. Speaking of running back and forward....
- ...where's sprint button? Why is it a locked mechanic which you still gotta pay for per use and it lasts for 30 seconds? Who in their right mind would not implement a sprint button in a game that arguably needs one the most? Regular speed is super slow and would work if you were in tight corridors, but these are wide, open dungeons. The hell is wrong with you Atlus?

Why would you buy this?
No really, why would you buy this game over other ones? Is it because you think main protag is hot? Is it because you may be into cyberpunk setting? Is it because you're interested in the story? Because even if you said yes to all 3, there are way better choices out there that aren't as greedy and tedious as this. Story itself also isn't that good, as Ringo kinda carries it all while the rest is either beyond rushed or uninteresting. Not to mention the animations in non pre-rendered cutscenes are gut-bustingly atrocious.

Worst game of 2022 for me, I'd much rather play a straight up bad game than something like Soul Hackers 2 which technically isn't the worst game of the year material, but its so underwhelming to the point where it just makes me angry. Ringo and her gang deserved better, and when my favorite thing about the game is a charming little stage play they set up for its announcement, then I have to question.... where is that passion in the game? Where's your SOUL Soul Hackers 2?

The Quiet Man™ is a hilarious, artsy cinematic masterpiece that doesn't get enough credit for the pure entertainment value it provides and I hope more people give it a shot just for the hell of it.

Best story I've never heard.
The main protagonist of this game is deaf. Despite that, he's a godlike lip reader who understands minutes upon minutes of dialogue and even throws in cheeky comments here and there. The game has no sound since it wants to put us in the shoes of the protag, but there are at least subtitles for us to read what he's seeing or what he's saying, right? NO! If a main character can't hear but can understand, why would WE want to understand? Truly one of the most artistic, stunning and brave directions I've ever seen in my life, may as well come out of the screen and punch me in the teeth while you're at it. Get few drinks, bring over whoever you have and dub over everything and laugh at pure chaos you're seeing on the screen.

Best story I've ever heard.
Upon beating the game once you unlock sound and subtitles as a reward. And to its credit, the story didn't go anywhere I was imagining it would in my first run, but was it worth another playthrough? Y E S. This is one of the funniest stories I've ever seen that takes itself far too seriously, with top notch voice acting skills straight out of Playstation 1, plot written by an edgy teenager who becomes his OC, and music that tries to be super dramatic. One boss even has fairly decent guitar riffs blasting in the background which caught me off guard and made me laugh harder. As a reward for your second playthrough, you get an additional after credits cutscene for a final kick in the balls.

It's quietin' time.
Main character is a badass. Game wants you to believe he's the coolest guy in history of universe. He's good at punching people, has a hoodie, and always has a same dead look in his eyes because his foes are not worth his attention. Gameplay consists of you being in extremely linear levels or sometimes just rooms, and punching same 3 dudes over and over. Sometimes they'll introduce a guy with a weapon. Sometimes you fight a boss that has a small gimmick that may confuse you to think of him as a regular goon. Combat is as basic as it gets, and there are also few finishers you can perform. Bosses even have their own dynamic intros. Think of a "Yakuza at home" kind of game. It's pretty bad, but in a single playthrough you will get 30 minutes of actual gameplay at most and other hour and a half are cutscenes only, so thankfully it doesn't overstay its welcome and is very tolerable. If you're bored you can trigger few visual bugs, but there's nothing game breaking sadly. It runs well, looks fine, some live action to in-game transitions were actually really good, so there's not much to complain at other than fact that cutscenes CAN'T BE SKIPPED, which is especially annoying since one achievement wants you to beat the whole game without taking a single hit.

Never heard of a sale?
$15 may not seem too bad, but don't bother, if you're gonna get it wait for a sale where its priced $3. and you'll definitely get your money's worth of entertainment if you're into terrible games. I'm glad I played through it and its another game I'll add to the collection of "bad games that are fun", just a tad below a cult classic called Rogue Warrior.

A fantastic collection of games with great netcode, but unless you intend to play it solo or have buddies willing to play with you, then you'll spend HOURS trying (and failing) to find a single person to play against because online is beyond dead.

If you already spent time to give these games a good rollback netcode, why not implement crossplay? $40 price for relatively niche fighting games is a deal breaker to many, and those who did buy it are scattered across platforms and are probably focusing on 1 or 2 games out of 10, those being Vampire Savior and HyperSF2. Finding a match of Puzzle Fighter is impossible, let alone a match for something like Cyberbots. I can't even find a SINGLE Puzzle Fighter player on discord, which I find weird because I saw lots of people saying the collection is worth it for that game alone.

"DARKSTALKERS ARE NOT DEAD" is a very correct statement, they're not dead, they're undead, because they keep digging themselves out of their grave before going back to it after a short period of time, which is a damn shame. There's so much more to this series than Morrigan/Felicia/Lilith/Hsien'Ko cameos and collector statues, and it sucks knowing it'll remain unknown to many.

EDIT: I will never forgive you for removing the hard "R" insult in Dan's ending of Gem Fighter. It was funny, but nah, gotta be as boring as possible nowadays don't we?

After almost 3 years, the game received a patch that puts it in "this is the worst port I've ever seen in my life" to "its alright I guess".

There are still issues, like one mission being impossible to Gold rank, kb+m mostly working how they need to except for the camera movement, ear piercing audio, but at least it seems like people behind the patch are willing to listen and look into problems so I have hope.

Looking forward to NMH2 patch.

The fact that they released an old game in this state is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable.

- Partial controller support for a game that doesn't support kb+m despite the fact that it could work (you need workarounds in order to play with Dualshock 4 for gods sake).

- Constant crashing during load screens. You know that lovely feeling of doing side stuff for hours only to have the game crash on you and removing all your progress because autosave isn't a thing? Outstanding.

- No options whatsoever. Wow look, you can toggle fullscreen on or off, so advanced.

- No button remapping. Self explanatory.

This game launched silently on Steam, its not like there was a huge demand for it to be released as soon as possible, so why the hell didn't you take your time and made sure it was functional despite being the most minimalistic port in existence? Save your money until they patch the hell out of both NMH 1 and 2. I received more crashes in this game in 3.5 hours than kisses from my mother in 10 years.

By becoming Ass Gods, Square Enix decided to make a totally ass move by not patching a half assed port of a game where you can see main character's big ass, but instead release a separate version on a platform that sucks ass.

EDIT: They did patch it, it runs fine on my end, but now I realized the game is a fetch quest simulator that bores me to tears so negative review remains.
