Horizontol progression, no gear grind/looting spiral stuff once you have max gear - but that doesn't mean there is nothing to do! There is so much stuff to do.

You can play, then don't play and your gear didn't get worse - so good for casuals, since they can reach endcontent.
Is it boring and not challenging? No! It gets challenging ;-) There is enough challenging content available - But you need to know your class, have a good group composition and know the encounter.
