I can totally recommend it for anyone keen for a mix of stealth/arcade sniper experience set within WW2.

Personally stealth games irritate me, usually because you will spend 10 minutes navigating an area where you restart if you're spotted. Thankfully SE5 totally scratches the itch that lies within my loins. You can move around stealthily and knock nazis out left and right. Or if you get spotted you can john wick those fascist ratweiners into hell.

It took me a few levels to truly admire the game loop, and the music helps a lot. In fact all the sounds are well done.

The xray slow motion kills are awesome as always. The first time I got a double/triple headshot in slow mo I had to change my undies.

This game respects your time. The invasion mode is pretty cool and adds depth that otherwise wouldn't be there. Get on it.

I have played 10 mins of this game, but I have also read 3 hours of reviews before buying the premium version. A lot of people mentioned the intro being amazing.

As a life lifelong Indiana Jones fan, if the first 10 mins is anything to go by, then I am about to have an Indiana Jonesgasm of an experience, and I'm here for it.

So far the game runs well on a 3080 on high. Will update review as it goes, but so far so bloody good!

Edit: 38 mins in and I'm in love. Still running well and the Indy love is shining through,

It could be the bourbons, but it's mostly the fanboy absolutely gushing inside of me. If the first 38 mins of this game is this good, I have kleenex at the ready.

Edit 2: 4 hours in and I'm still loving it. Have had a couple system crashes which isn't great but otherwise it's just amazing.

----------

Alright after 19 or so hours I finished the game and I'm back for more.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle kind of snuck up on me, I wasn't necessarily waiting for it. Even though I love the franchise, I have learned not to get too excited for games these days - especially something like this franchise where the two recent movies have overstayed their welcome.

The respect the game shows to the franchise is clear. Between the music, the references and the satisfying Indiana Jones punch sound effect, this game hits all the right beats. Indy looks like Indy and for most parts he sounds like him too. If you didn't know the voice actor wasn't Mr Ford himself, you'd be easily fooled.

Length wise it's just about perfect. I've seen people say 15 hours, and maybe I'm a bit special but it took about 20. There's "levels" which vary from investigation sections (running around, collecting things, figuring out things, punching fascists) to exploration sections (running around, collecting things, figuring out things, solving puzzles) and it balances out nicely through the play time.

Story wise I was engaged for most of it. There's a decent amount of cut scenes, which I struggle with generally, however they were few and far between which helped break it up. I easily felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie at some points, so that's cool.

Graphics are really good but it will test your rig. The lighting in the game is really well done.

I still ran into issues where the game would fully crash my pc after approx. 50 minutes playing. I solved this by playing in chunks of 45 minutes. By disabling intro videos and having the game on SSD, the game loads pretty quickly so this wasn't too bad of a solution. Not sure if it's the game or my rig, but I have performance monitored and nothing is out of the ordinary.

My only real complaints:

- I may be on my own here, is that while the voice actor did hit the mark most of the time, he didn't quite have Harrison Ford energy. He did a fantastic job for sure, but there were a few times where it feels like he's just phoning in the lines without inflection.

- The other thing that killed me is a side character constantly referring to Indy as "Jones". It's either Indy or Dr. Jones, not bloody "Jones".

- Lastly, the AI was about as smart as a boiled potato. Maybe that was intentional, dumb fascist nazis and all that, but it was comically bad sometimes. However this was saved by the absolute joyful thwacking punching noises that followed when slaughtering an entire camp of said fascist nazis.

Other than that, this was easily one of the best AAA experiences I've had in a long time. The effort that went into the game is easily visible. Go and get it. Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory.

After seeing all the praise for the game and watching videos of the gameplay, I was sure this game wasn't for me. I hate deck building games but I like poker, but I was trying to step out of my comfort zone.

This game is amazing, totally recommend!

Everyone on here whinging about Denuvo or launchers or whatever, I'm not here to cry about that, I just couldn't give a crap.

I slayed a zombie and then spent 8 minutes massaging its body with my fist. Organs were severed, jaws were broken and lives were changed.

Sure the levels are linear and it's not open world, but I'm OK with that. The gameplay is fun and really that's all that matters.

I watched the show before playing the game, and that was probably a good thing because the game launched on PC as a buggy mess, running like a fat kid with cake even with a good rig.

Thankfully a handful of patches seem to have optimised things, as the game now runs really well and looks great too. A few game play elements feel dated now, but overall I had fun playing.

Probably the best remake I've ever encountered in 30+ years of gaming. I played RE4 back when it release on the Gamecube and again when it released on the Wii and again on steam, and I can safely say that this is the best of the bunch.

The quality of life enhancements are amazing and add a new level of fun to this already amazing game. I can't put it down as new game plus revitalises everything. I love it.

I enjoyed Chiv 1 and I can't remember why I stopped playing, so thanks for coming to Steam Chiv 2!

This game is so much fun and is reigniting my love for games again. Sure the skill curve takes some getting used to, but the satisfaction is real when you chop body parts up in a 1v1 duel.

Deathmatch is insane, with horses and swords flying left and right. I fully recommend this game if the trailer looks interesting to you
