In one word i would describe it as dissapointing.

dissapointing pricing (if not downright greedy in case of DLCs)
dissapointing maps (even if I try very hard not comparing them to SE 4)
dissapointing story (I dont remember single person nor overarching narrative, and that is coming from someone who remembers even pawn names and their personalities in Rimworld)
dissapointing enemy AI and overall lack of polish ( noticable in combat, while traversing maps and finding out how limited Your mobility really is, and lastly the game looks strangely jagged a little blurry even after tweaking settings set on high/ultra, cant really put it to words other than ,,looking a little off,, )

So many mechanics half cooked, (skill system from which You will need only extra hp bars and immortality - self reviving with medpacks) forgettable (instict system that I forgot existed right after tutorial and stumbled upon 10 hours later by accident ) or just plain stupid. ( non-lethal munition and takedowns on wehrmacht soldiers during invasion of normandy. I cannot comprehend reasoning behind this one, it does not make sense like in Dishonored for instance, where fewer city guards = more weepers as well as reasonable assumption that those guys are just trying to do their jobs, SE 5 as setting is active war zone with 2 professional armies fighting, no moral ambiguity present, nor does this system present any consequences or any additional depth)

I just dont get it, in 20 +- hours of playing every small thing felt so frustrating. No more lethal anti-infantry traps, reasonable certainty that my perfectly fired AP bullet will just yeet off soldiers` helmet, alerting everyone around. I can vault certain waist-high fences but not other ones of same height, those will just force me into auto-run ( ??? I certainly lack the 200 IQ to guess who would put auto-run in game about precision, covertness and sneaking ) destroying vehicles is a chore now, and even extensive gun customization is hampered by the fact that by the time i got most of my ,,desired,, guns and parts i just learned to play with loadout available and was not motivated in slightest to change anything. Also camouflage patterns are mostly horrendously out of place, same as character model with his stupid sweater or tank top, that is of course if You dont pay that sweet $$$ for at least a little good looking ghillie suit skin.

Wehrmacht are not interesting enemies to fight. Character of soldiers range from clueless to bored (even in mission right after D-Day in area where I would assume the game would put everyone on alert as MF ALLIED INVASION FORCE HAVE LANDED NEARBY) and officers ranging from no personality or over the top to just evil (with the exception of 1 that i noticed was surprisingly professional in scripted conversation with subordinate about their japanese visitors or something) There is little practical distinction between different ,,classes,, of enemies and its really dissapointing that devs did not really try to innovate in this area, as fighting mooks, ,,better mooks,, sharpshooters, officers and occasional vehicle over and over gets really grating and feels same.

As in previous installments friendly NPCs are allowed to be heroic and fearless only in cutscenes and I wont pretend that SE4 had perfect characters, but at no point in previous titles did they make me cringe like the french woman and Charlie person had while playing SE5.

On a closing note,
Before writing this review I read a lot of other peoples` thoughts on various SE 5 mechanics, maps, story and as with everything on the internet, there are a lot of opinions, but I would like to remark that it brings me smile that the same people sycopanthically praising and defending this game and its stupid mechanics, rejecting constructive criticism and discussion are the ones rewarded by horrendously greedy pricing, same DLCs over again ( with the exception of pink weapon skins of course, thats new :) ) and hot new mechanics such as invasions ( fun fact: up to date of writing tried by around 18% of players). Do Yourself a favor and play SE4 instead. I will certainly not return to this installment in the series anytime soon.

I was really enjoying my time with this game but about 30 minutes into each session the game just hard crashes my gpu driver or something

Running an RTX 3080, I hear the windows disconnect sound and both my monitors go completely black but I can still hear audio, can't interact with my PC at all and I need to force a shutdown with the power button

Really disappointing because I was having a great time and the levels have an impressive scale that wasn't previously seen in earlier entries (I've played every single sniper elite game and never had this problem)

Tried both DX12 and Vulkan, running the game in a window and lowering settings. Weird because I get 120+ fps on ultra but it just hard crashes 30 minutes in roughly - really annoying and I haven't been able to find a fix online. going to try for a refund

Running very poorly on a computer with more than recommended settings. Not recommending it sadly as SE4 was very fun.
