Waited 10 minutes for a free helicopter. Waited 5 minutes for helicopter to pick me up after it was approved. Took 4 minute ride across map. Helicopter landed. I got out and started to run to objective. Helicopter took off. Helicopter ran me over and I died. Spent another 40 minutes to get back to my body at the landing zone and back to base. Logged off to head to work.

10/10 ̶W̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ Will waste time again.

Things kind of got stale for me and I needed to take a break. It's a good game, but could have been better out the gate.

I recently started to get into medium and long range shooting. This is an affordable way to get practical experience with reading a ballistic chart, getting scope dialed in, practicing dope, etc. HOWEVER, this program does NOT hold your hand. The interface is a little clunky and you need to already be somewhat familiar with long range shooting concepts.

Unless you're shooting a 22, a box of even the cheapest plinking long range rifle ammo (223/556/6.5) will cost nearly a dollar per round. So, for me, this program is worth it.

As a firearms instructor and certified armorer I find this game to be an interesting start, but definitely needs a lot of work. Parts are named incorrectly, take down procedures are in weird orders, removing rust from parts that shouldn't have rust, it sometimes has you removing parts that don't normally need service, and other things. Interested to see where this goes, but........ don't expect much from this...

Then it gets super repetitive and boring. No diagnosing issues or tuning either.

I cannot recommend this in its current state.

UPDATE: Saw there have been some updates/patches so I jumped in to see how things are. Same issues remain. Still get super bored after about one or two guns.

I like the game, and think it is fun, but after amassing a large amount of ships and revealing the map/universe the ship movement on the map turns into a slide show. Issuing orders becomes delayed and it just isn't fun anymore.

There is definitely room for improvement but still pretty good in its current form. It's also better than the virtual training simulators I've used as a police officer. Looking forward to where things go.

Playing on ultra-violence (hard) difficulty.

This is visceral fast paced combat. And it is glorious! You feel like a badass killing machine mowing through enemies. They make you juggle health, armor, and ammo while fighting. You have tools to get these resources back. Glory kills get you some health, attacking or killing enemies after using a flamethrower get you some armor, and chainsaw kills gets you some ammo. Different weapons and their mods are better against different enemies, so you switch between weapons and cycle mods on the fly during combat.

As you get better with health/armor/ammo management, and weapon/mod cycling things become a lot more fluid.

If you aren't having trouble the game will probably recommend you increase difficulty. If you come to an area where you are having trouble the game will give a small helping hand, in the way of maybe giving you a bit more armor/health. I read someone had the game offer to give them some sort of armor boost or something to help the player get past an area.

There are also lots of hidden areas and small puzzles to figure out, which is nice to break up all the intense play. These areas have easter-eggs, collectibles, power-ups, components, and other things of the like.

The biggest negative I have is that platforming does not always work unless you are perfect with your timing/jump/grab/whatever. Ledges can sometimes have edges you stumble on which will mess up your jump. Pull-up bars are sometimes very awkward or difficult to jump to upt. A lot of ledges are very picky about how and where you are when you grab on to them. Some walls you it just won't grab on. I have had to sacrifice a lot of health and armor because of this system. It can also be very frustrating in certain areas.

Despite that, it is still a great game.

"They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you. You will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done."

Don't worry, you won't get PTSD. You are the traumatic event.

Would slay again.

The good:
- characters: good personality, good interactions, they arent super shallow or deep.
- missions: a lot of "dynamically" generated missions and "random" events occur that just a trip to find a pelt can turn into something more.
- story: the story portion of the are interesting and varied.
- game play in general
- fun open world content: lots of places to explore and find on your own. pretty much the kind of world setup weve come to expect from rockstar.

The bad:
- sometimes weird controls, especially true while riding a horse. it's like it has a mind of its own sometimes. seriously, the horse will sometimes do it's own thing, annoying but a nice touch i still appreciate.
- started off stable, but after playing more the last few weeks I have had several crashes (MSI TITAN laptop, Win10, i7 4 cores at 2.6GHz, 32GB RAM, 980M in SLI, SSD)
- legendary animal tracking can sometimes be a pain.
- some game mechanics suck. like, i was pick pocketed, so i caught the kid and hog tied him. we just so happen to be by the police department so I picked him up thinking i could turn him in. instead, i was wanted and had the police pointing their guns at me in short order. when i attempted to "defuse" the situation i was hoping my char would explain what happened and theyd be like, "oh, gg partner." instead, he just says something like, "hold on now." they did not.
- the AI can sometimes be dumb, dumb...dumb
- the warrant/bounty system isnt great
- needs more options for honorable play. dynamically generated bounty hunting would be a HUGE addition. so far ive only come across maybe 4 or 5 bounty. (online has this already, but im working on story atm)

The ugly:
- graphical issues. typically it seems to do with transparencies, cut scenes, loading screens, etc. i havent seen anything which would make it unplayable.
