If you are a new to Destiny, start with the free version. Don't buy anything and see if you like the base game. The "New Light" starter campaign might still be bad, but it gives a decent idea of the game. If you don't enjoy it, then that is fine. If you enjoy it then great! Then start by buying the earlier expansions, and go from there.

When it comes to Lightfall specifically, thenthe core gameplay is great. I mean, it's Destiny. Gameplay and mechanics has always been top tier. But story wise the campaign lacks in major ways. Not as much "It's really bad, I don't understand anything AT ALL." It's more like "I do get the premise, but this is kinda confusing with no explanation."

The new subclass feels great to use in PvE (haven't tried in PvP yet), and zooming around with grapple is amazing.
Some of the new NPC's kinda lack doing the main Lightfall campaign, but get some more time doing the post-campaign stuff, which is great. Ikora still does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and Zavala is just kinda.... there.

Overall it a downgrade from Which Queen definitely, but it's still fun to play and explore Neomuna. Really hoping the next couple of seasons makes up for the huge pricetag, as I don't feel 100 bucks are worth it for the deluxe edition.

I would say you should only buy this DLC if you really enjoy the game, or if you're like me and have spend waaaay too much time on D2 to back out at this point.

5/10
