This was the first game in the MX vs ATV series that I have played, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Once I learned how to properly do jumps and tricks, the game makes you feel like a badass. I even went and bought MX vs ATV Reflex based on a lot of people's recommendations. I will say though, that first couple of hours of gameplay felt pretty rough. But, I think its just because my bike wasn't yet upgraded and I was still learning how to play. There are also a few things that the game doesn't tell you. 1st. You can change colors of some items in your garage and in your locker. It will have a paint brush next to the item if you can edit its colors. 2nd. Some "collectibles" can only be accessed way later in the game. 3rd. Most of the game's events can actually be switched. For example instead of doing West coast super cross events, you can switch it to East by pressing Y on your controller. And that's pretty much all from the top of my head.

This is a game that set out to do something different, out of things that have existed successfully individually on its own.

Please make sure to rate this review, so more people can find out. Is this game expansive w/ all of the dlcs? Heck yea. But here's a nice quick solution for you guys. There's this website called eneba, and on there you can buy the trilogy for $46 in total. By getting all three games you also unlock numerous free dlcs that come with each game all in a third one (which is the one you should play anyways). Then if you're interested you can invest in a few other dlcs on the same store. The ones I'd reccomend are: champions Of Chaos, chaos warriors, rise of the Tomb Kings, curse of the vampire coast, and the queen and the crone (total of another $45, or so). This way you pay a little under a $100, pretty much for most that this game has to offer, and can invest easily 100s of hours to gain return on $/time spent. These specific dlcs that I've included should unlock most of the features that the game comes with as well as a bunch of factions and characters to play with.

This was a very fun find. I've originally heard of this game from gameranx back when it was in beta and they got to try it, and last night my friend told me if I had finals, and I thought he was talking about college, but he was actually just talking about this game. So once that confusion went out of the window, I took less than one minutes to download and install (only 7gb), and we got into it. 8 hrs later, I feel like I've already unlocked and discovered most of the items that I like to main with, and been whooping some ass sometimes, and get mine whooped the others (as long as you're not super competitive you'll be okay lol ). The mechanics of the game feel very fluid. Destruction is inpar of another great indie game called battlebit, a lot of different unique gadgets and power ups that make this game stand out as something very refreshing. Microtransactions do get thrown in your face when you start the game, but they're pretty much optional and you still get rewarded skins just by playing the game pretty generously. I feel like they were done pretty classy. Also if you were to buy a battlepass according to the progress I've made it would take you a little over a 100 hours to unlock everything in it. Buying 20lvl skip rewards you with about 22hrs of skip time through the grind. Also once you buy it once, as long as you continue playing this game you'll never have to buy another one since during leveling you will unlock over 1500 in game coins that you can use a 1000 of to buy the battle pass again. So from all of the games that I've ever played that had battlepass, this one seems the most tempting.

I feel like this game proves that as long as the game has great mechanics and no big game breaking bugs, people will eat it up. It is sad that big game studios with big budget cannot understand that, and constantly go for money grab instead of delivering an actual good game. Because of this game i was able to meet a lot of new cool people, and had a lot of fun playing it with my long time buds. 10/10 would recommend.

I have found this game all thanks to CallMeKevin. As of my first 6 hours of gameplay, I've gotta say it is definitely a pretty fun prison break (the tv show) like rpg. I'm not sure if developers have gotten any inspiration from that show, but its cool to see nonetheless.

Who is this game for: If you love rpg that has very detailed lore, this game is for you. You will enjoy a very vibrant and busy game, full of resource management and trying to keep up with the game's main objective and quantity of side content. I think since this game is only in early access, it means that there will most likely be tons on new content added as their development progresses. That means there will be plenty of replayability. If this is something that you enjoy, then this game is for you.

Who is this game not for: Similarly to what I said earlier, this game will throw tons of lore at you. If you don't really care to read tons of text, then maybe its not for you. However, I personally am usually pretty selective to what I read, since I'm an adult that has other things going on in life, and don't have time to read instead of actually playing the games, I gotta say I managed alright. There was definitely some text that felt like I shouldn't have skipped, but nothing that I couldn't eventually figure out. And obviously this is also a given, but if you don't like 3dimensional side scrollers, and turned based combat then you know the drill.

My personal opinion: As someone that plays variety of different games, its not often that I find myself playing a game in a similar style to back to the dawn. However this game felt like a hidden gem, so I decided to give it a try, and have not regretted it. I am currently planning on finishing my first play through, and once I do, I will most likely move on to a different game. However, I am pretty interested to comeback to it sometime in the future once there have been more updates and content added.

Personally, I think the game is bewildering. It's beautiful in every corner and a crack. However, the obvious downside is frame drop. I have a 3060ti and a Ryzen 7 3800X which is technically more than enough to run this game with RTX options on, and at the minimum medium settings for a balanced gameplay with 60fps. However that is not the case. After doing multiple setting adjustments I've had to settle for an occasional lag with no RTX options, and a medium settings all around. Hopefully this gets fixed with some proper patches. There's no reason why desktop version should be outperformed by consoles. Otherwise, I still recommend everything else about this game regardless of this issue.

Edit: Since the last patch, the frame drop became much more manageable. I was able to play the game at 60 fps with raytracing cranked to high, and graphic settings mostly high (some medium). However that is with DLSS performance mode. Tech stuff aside, I've also now completed the game, and I gotta say the experience is most certainly worth every penny. There were a few times during the story that my jaw would drop, however the main character would just go along like nothing happened. Especially in the part where you learn Avada Kedavra lol

This game is genuinely super fun and addicting. The developers do an amazing job staying engaged with the audience and genuinely caring for what people want to see. However I will say that if you don't have a beefy pc specs, then you're out of luck. A walk-around from that is to create a bunch of mini factories. This game also has a big learning curve, so it'll require you to actually do online research on how to make things work efficiently and etc.
I work as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, and going to school to become an engineer and sometimes this game makes my brain work more than both of those things.
If you're a parent and wondering if this game is something you should buy for your kid, then I would definitely reccomend it, as it can spike their interest in a profession that would potentially pay for your nursing home expanses down in the future lol
