I completed the game (beat the final boss) in 5 hours. Which may sound short, but considering the price of the game it is excellent value for money.

Highly recommended if you enjoy games like Balatro, Dicey Dungeons, Clover Pit, Dungeons of Aether etc.

Perfect for Steam Deck.

The pixel art looks great. The core gameplay mechanic works great. However navigating between worlds in this game is so tedious. The game doesn’t make it easy to know which doors to go which level and I guess you’re supposed to somehow remember routes to get from one world to another? I got sick of trying various doors and solving the same problems over and over to get to doors only to find out it wasn’t the one I wanted. The game does have a form of fast travel but its just occasional warp gates that you also need to navigate to. The movement itself is very slow and repositioning in the air is almost impossible. The game is 12 years old and I guess I’m holding it to modern gameplay standards. But would I recommend it to someone today who has never played before? Probably not.

A survival game which leans mostly on the cozy side although there are light combat elements which can be easily avoided by running past hostile creatures. There are a few minor bugs but nothing serious, and the devs are very active in Discord so I have no doubt that these will be fixed soon. Works perfectly on Steam Deck. Well worth the full price.

I can’t believe we’re still getting massive free updates.

This was one of my most anticipated games this year after I really enjoyed the demo, I bought it as soon as possible, and it lived up to my expectations.

I’m really enjoying the game, I think it has the perfect blend of puzzle performing, precision performing, combat, metroidvania mechanics, and a little souls like mechanics. It doesn’t lean too heavily into any one aspect but gives you enough of each to keep it interesting without being frustratingly punishing.

I was surprised at the lack of a fast travel system and I really think this game would be better with it (if you could just travel between shrines).

The ability to put markers on the map would also be a nice to have.

I found a couple of bugs:

One was only visual, only happened once and had no impact on game play so not really a big problem.

The other bug was game breaking and I had to reload my save. It was caused by placing my sword close to one of the interactive objects you can use to raise/lower platforms, then interacting with the object. My sword then disappeared. It’s not been a huge problem because I’ve since just not placed my sword to close to things that I am going to interact with.

They’ve been very active with patches since so these may have even been fixed by now.

Other than that I think it’s a great game and I definitely recommend it.

Only played for a few hours but I’m having so much fun. I’ve been looking for a game like this since The Cycle: Frontier closed down and this is very similar but somehow way better.

The enemy AI (“ARC”) are so realistic with their behaviour, animation, and sound effects - and such a fun challenge that really adds to the suspense.

The audio design is incredible.

The meta progression has so much depth that it will keep you playing for a long very long time and yet somehow not complex.

Based on my short time with the demo I can tell it’s going to be a great game. The feel of the snappy animations is just great. And there’s good mechanics and your standard metroidvania approach of areas being ability gated.

Personally I’m not a fan of enemies respawning when you re-enter an area, I prefer the more souls like approach of enemies only respawning when you use a save/healing point. But I can’t mark the game down for that as it’s pretty standard metroidvania mechanics and it’s more of a personal thing for me.

Really loving the demo. I only played for 15 minutes which was enough for me to know that I want to buy the full game. I’m going to leave it like that and wait for the release.

The gameplay loop really scratches an itch that few games get right in my opinion.

I like the core game. But the fights with the enemies with timing mechanics feels out of place in an otherwise essentially-turn-based methodical game. I kind of wish that part could just be removed.

A short game but the price reflects that. It’s refreshing to have a metroidvania that doesn’t involve combat.
