I'm doing my part. Join... the Helldivers

EDIT: The gamer rage is obnoxious. It was stated from the start that a PSN account would be required. Just make one and if you live in an unfortunate region, make one for the closest region to you. This is a non issue.

After a long and brutal launch riddled with issues, I can finally say that the game is enjoyable. The main problems on launch, which were issues with connecting to a match, finding a match in the first place, and failing to synchronize after a match (match would just end as if it never happened, no rewards) are all but gone. There will occasionally be a matchmaking error here and there but they are few and FAR between.

If you love Gundam, or Mecha, or even just like third-person team shooters, give it a try. The mechanics are actually quite fun once you get used to them. It is very team-reliant, which might not be the greatest for players who want to be the stand out ace pilot, but that's not to say that there isnt the possibility to show off your newtype skills from time to time.

Core gameplay is very fun, and the gacha system does allow you to get a pretty decent lineup without whaling, and its definitely possible to enjoy the game F2P as well.

I will begin by saying I had no performance issues on launch day other than slight flickering during cutscenes. CPU at 50-60% utilization and GPU anywhere between 60%-80% (99% during cutscenes).

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700xt
RAM: 48gb

I've just beaten the game, and let me say.. Jedi: Survivor is a master class in story telling. Art in a video game. It only took a few hours to replace Jedi: Fallen Order as my favorite game of recent years. If you liked J:FO, you will like this. If you like Star Wars, you will like this. If you LOVE Star Wars, you will be absolutely blown away.

I won't spoil anything, but the story brings hard-hitting lows and euphoric highs. The game does an immaculate job of letting you power trip on normal enemies before absolutely humbling you in a boss fight. There were so many cinematic moments in the story as well as satisfying sequences in the gameplay.

Casual Star Wars fans will definitely have a blast, but for the hardcore fans your experience will be filled with so many YES YES YES moments. The development team did a great job with adding payoffs for the lore nerds out there, in ways that I feel won't alienate the casual fans.

I hope that the game gets better performance optimization soon, because this is a MUST PLAY. Everyone deserves to experience Jedi: Survivor.

Originally I was skeptical because of EA.

They nailed it with this one. If you're looking for a updated Force Unleashed style game, get this. I'm still getting used to Souls style combat but it's very fun so far

Early Access Review
Picked this game up after seeing the creator on reddit offering to return the money to everyone who supported the go fund me page now that the game is out and doing well. I usually don’t even like village sims so I wasn’t sure what to expect but soon enough I had spent an entire weekend playing God over my village. The mechanics seem complicated but once you understand them (doesn’t take that long) you can start to appreciate everything that gives Rise to Ruins so much depth.
