First of all, please don't listen to any of the negative reviews that are saying this is a MOBA or freaking out about the game, saying it's not like the old DOW games. This is definitely not a MOBA and yes, that's right... they changed the game a little bit. The third installment is different than the first two... DEAR GOD, IT'S DIFFERENT, PURGE IT WITH FIRE! People had the same reaction when DOW2 came out.

The Power Core multiplayer mode is NOT a MOBA and actually more like the game's previous annhilation mode but with added objectives, that also share popular MOBA names and barrow some mechanics, but that's where the similarities end. There's base building, army upgrading, economy management, TONS of micro gameplay that I don't think anyone will truely master. This game's skill ceiling is huge. Relic's multiplayer mode just happened to use terms familiar to MOBA players for the new objectives in their first multiplayer mode and veteran players are acting like the sky is falling. This is still very much a RTS and it's more fair and balanced than it's ever been.

Also, I'd like to say that, historically, DOW games have patched and supported the game long after release, giving their games a very long life. I know they haven't announced anything yet, but they've talked about Power Core mode being their FIRST multiplayer mode and only one available at launch... surely we'll be seeing more factions, more modes and plenty of other content to keep us interested. Just look at all the expansions for the prior games and remember DOW2? Last Stand mode, for instance, didn't even come out until about 9 months after release but I've seen plenty of people complaining about that not being in DOW3's release. Patience and acclimation are the key points here.

The campaign is fun and although it serves as more of an advanced tutorial than anything else, it's still satisfying and challenging. The story is okay, but well done and has the perfect mix of new and returning characters (some in very interesting new roles). I also believe that Orks have never been better represented in the 40k universe than they currently are now in DOW3. My only real complaint about the game is how unlocks in the game work, especially some of the doctrines in the game that are linked to certain elites that you have to grind to level 8 before you can have access to it. Other than that. this is a solid game, a welcomed addition to the RTS legacy that is Dawn of War and I would recommend it to any RTS fan or any previous DOW fans that don't have their rose-tinted glasses on.
