Oct. 28 2014: Team Fortress 2 is one of those games that you find yourself coming back to over and over again. Not because its intense gameplay, its unique industrialesque Norman Rockwell artstyle, its hundreds of playstyles and customization, or even its free pricetag. Team Fortress 2 is the kind of game that leaves a lasting impression because its massive community of friendly and sometimes not so friendly players and it's heavy involvement with the community (such as community driven items and as of this review the upcoming community update End of the Line). People that play a game for casual relaxation or intense combat. Those who make longlasting friendships and sometimes shortterm rivalry. Those who invest themselve in a virtual marketplace finding themselves learning economics based of rising and lowering prices of metal and keys. Team Fortress 2 is an experience well past the boundaries of just gaming, it has a well planned and written lore that has made itself into movie quality animation and comics that bring a multitude of emotion through their art and captions. Never before have I seen a game that has made a holiday like Halloween into an event more for teamwork and community than scares and candy. Never before have I seen a game with such impressive ARG's that make people hyped for robots and bread. Valve has blessed the world with a gift that I am sure will go down with the ages amongst other great titles and so I say to you, If you've never tried this game sit down one evening and play it. It's free and goes long beyond the boundaries of a standard first person shooting hat simulator.

Nov. 22, 2017: Felt the need to update this review now that the game has celebrated its tenth anniversary. Even after ten years the creators still show compassion and support towards it's community by creating animations, new features, and new content. At times it may seem drawn out and far between but this is a company who still cares about it's dear creation and a franchise that has turned 21. I think that Valve earns some mad respect for that. It has been a wild ride, here's to the next 10 years!

Aug. 10th 2023: Somehow the TF2 Community has continued to add amazing content to this game with the addition of the newest Summer Update. VS Saxton Hale being now officially in the game is so much fun and Valve has finally taken steps towards eradicating the aimbot problem. While there is still a lot to be done in terms of hackers, the addition of Valve starting to accept community bugfixes and the community continuously making new and refreshing gamemodes/items, I can truly see this game lasting another 10 years. Keep up the great work everyone and I highly recommend this game to others to play!
I just hope we can get that final TF2 comic at some point.

June 3rd 2024: It has been two years since Valve stated they heard us and that they were working to fix the aimbot problem in Team Fortress 2. In it's current state, Team Fortress 2 is unplayable because the bots that have gotten out of hand with absolutely no word from Valve on how they plan to fix this issue over the past 2 years. The bots overran the official servers using aimbot, slurs, mic spam, ddosing, and they even try to IP steal. They will kick you from a server via votekick when swarms of bots fill the entire teams. It is disgusting that Valve still asks for money from cosmetics in the game made by the community while still refraining from fixing this problem. Valve has an obligation to do something otherwise I have no reason to trust them in buying or playing any of their future games. #savetf2 #fixtf2

July 10th, 2024: Valve has taken notice of the TF2 communities plea to address the aimbot problem and have implemented a system to ban all of the bots after 343,711 people signed the petition! As of writing this review I have yet to see any aimbots in casual servers and cheaters have been getting banned relatively fast into joining the game. Jay Pinkerton one of the writers for the TF2 comics has also teased that the final comic #7 is finally coming out this year. With the annual Summer update just around the corner things are starting to look very optimistic for the future of this game which holds fond memories with a LOT of us, here's hoping that continues to be the trend. Thank You Valve for taking the time to keep this wonderful game playable and enjoyable to all.
