Early Access Review
Survived for an in-game two weeks or so with a friend. A scratch got infected and I took care of it pretty well, but one fateful night, while making pasta, and after eating said pasta, I had forgotten to actually disinfect it. We decided to sleep for the night, and because "Need Sleep" was off we accidentally slept for a full 24 hours. A whole day went by without tending to the scratch. I turned, and my friend put me down. Worth the 10 hours we put into that character, just for that moment.

Edit: After sinking another like 100 hours into this game, I can assure you that the whole goal of dying makes every moment important, and losing a character with 30 hours of survival time actually hurts. I now have to find him and put him down, and that hurts too. RIP Lord Fartquad

I played this game for the first time when I was around eight years old. I had picked it up in a Gamestop at the local mall after begging my mother to let me play it despite the "T" rating on the back of the box. I got home, bag of Swedish Fish in hand and excitement pouring from my every orifice. I opened the Xbox tray and booted up the game and for the next three hours didn't even progress through the main story, but instead wandered around looking for the mostly unobtainable due to lack of abilities scavenger hunt items hidden around the camp. It was up until the point where I realized I had to actually progress to get the rest that I moved onto Sasha's lab. I dedicated the rest of the week's free time to playing this game and getting the scavenger hunt items only to be rewarded with, well, nothing really-- levels, at least in the eyes of an eight year old, or someone who isn't trying to 100% the game, are worthless. Even though I was disappointed by the outcome, jesus *christ* did I have such a genuine blast getting to that moment of disenchantment.

The characters, the style, the humor, the level design, and even the music are etched so deeply into my now 21 year old brain. This game deserved more attention than it really got, but the fact that a sequel is on its way makes me giddy with nostalgia-fueled, childlike excitement not too far off from the first day I played this beautiful masterpiece of a game. Play this game. You will love it. I guarantee it.

I cannot stress this enough. This is an entry level CoD game that could ease curious players into the franchise, but even then! I cannot express how great this game was and still is to this day. A relatively active player base exists and I still like to play with my friends on co-op, so there's really no downside to owning this great entry into a monster of a franchise.

It's pretty well optimized for PC, with a few crashes here and there, but not enough to bat an eye toward. The graphics still hold up for a game from 2009. I still remember playing it back then and being called several names that I cannot repeat in this review... good memories! Even with that being said, going into this game now it feels like an untouched world, still occupied by the things that made it how it was ten years prior.

Get this game :)

I picked up this game for a dollar, and was pleased with the reviews that other people had left for it. I booted it up at three in the morning or so, and despite having class at 9:00, played until 6:30. Playful atmosphere with a slightly challenging combat system, inspired maps, and a very enjoyable soundtrack. Even when the other team was trash talking my team I was having a blast. If you're open to getting addicted to a game, pick this up. Even if it's at full price. It's definitely worth it.

A classic must-buy game for anyone considering buying a new PC or starting out as a PC user. Endless possibilities grip the already present variety in this game. Just stay away from some of the RP servers, that's all I ask of you.

Pros:
- Great gameplay
- Team focused rounds in which the outcomes are entirely based off of the operator you get to freely choose and how well you can play them
- Pretty well optimized
- All around fun, enjoyable experience
Cons:
-Scratch everything I've just said and instead just think about a game in which you're censored and auto banned for being "toxic" by saying a meme word, all while someone on your team is ACTUALLY being toxic in game chat by calling everyone else bad at the game and telling them to be quiet every two seconds. It's almost like Ubisoft doesn't actually know their own fanbase at all. No one cares if they're called a "♥♥♥♥♥". Everyone who plays this game is grown enough to know when they're being offended, and if you're listening to the ones that aren't and are offended always and often by anything, like being called "♥♥♥♥♥" then you're doing nothing for literally everyone else, and instead banning people because of language all while CE users are running around rampantly headshotting people through solid walls.
- The sound design is laughable-- you could hear someone stomping around across the map, but it would sound like they were right behind you solely because you're in the same connected area as them
