As a player, you take control of a courier that was transporting a package to New Vegas, but you get ambushed and shoot in the head. After surviving, you begin a journey to find out who killed you and recover the package. Along the way, you make friends and enemies among various warring factions, and ultimately become caught up in a conflict that will determine who controls New Vegas and the Mojave Wasteland.
The game can be played in first-person or third-person perspective. There are more than 140 weapons to chose from ranging from knives, pistols, rifles, explosives, rocket launchers, laser pistols, plasma rifles, miniguns... There are 150 locations to discover. You fight against human opponents, ghouls, giant ants, mutants, robots and much more. To help you there are also 8 different companions raging from dogs, humans and robots.
One of my favourite features in this game is that your choices matter. Whether you chose to kill someone or to spare them it's going to have a different impact on the story. The best thing about the game would be freedom. You can choose how to approach quests, which quests are you going to take, how you engage objectives, who you choose to cooperate with and who you choose to exterminate.
The only drawback for the game are somewhat frequent bugs, glitches and crashes. For me, the game crashed about 10 times and I found a few glitches, but that didn't bother me at all.

If you like open-world or story-rich games I highly recommend this game.
