This is one of the most mechanically frustrating games of all time.
Everyone wants to kill you all the time unless you are in a safe area. They will bum rush you in a straight line spraying bullets nonstop. Some guy just driving his car down the road? He'll swerve to intercept you immediately. The pacing in this game is awful.

Getting anywhere is a chore. There are bus stations you can use to fast travel, but they are only slightly faster than just driving to the location. Cars can get stuck on rocks and oter terrain. When you encounter enemies (all the time) they will damage your vehicle and make it slower. There is a repair mechanic, but it's made useless by your ability to just use the car that somehow remained unscathed when it rammed you.

Gun play is somewhat satisfactory. Enemies seem to line up to their deaths, but buildings are not safe. Enemies have X-Ray vision (They managed to keep the worst part of Far Cry in this game) and will shoot you through walls. There are silenced weapons, but being stealthy is essentially impossible.

Can't forget the malaria. Oh no, my screen is blurry...Gotta take my pills! What an interesting mechanic.

The lack of an automatic save function intensifies the frustrating mechanics tenfold. Learn to love the F5 button because the other option is to go out of your way to a save point. The bus stations prove to be a little more useful as they will prompt you to save after using them.

The voice acting is pathetic, which is appropriate for the paltry story of people wanting to kill each other almost as much as they want to kill you. I've made it about half-way through and there's nothing to make me think it will get any better.

Honestly, it feels like the developers set out to make everything extremely tedious and unrewarding. Far Cry 3 is what this game should have been.

I plan to complete this game so I can hit rock bottom and maybe motivate myself to reevaluate my life choices.

Brutal, fast paced strategy with a fantastic soundtrack. Slightly different each time due to variations in enemy weapons and behavior. I haven't made it very far, but the story is mildly interesting. Great for short bursts of gameplay and a prime example of a "just one more time" game.

Some of the best money I've ever spent. It's very rewarding to play and doesn't get old.

The most fun game released in recent years. It focuses on what makes game fun by being over-the-top instead of realistic. The grappling hook is an impeccably implemented mechanic. There's so much to do, which makes this well worth the money.
