This game feels like the definition of an iceberg. At first, it seems really small, but I keep getting surprised the longer I play.

Bethesda set out to make a game you could play for years, and I think they’ve accomplished that again. I think the space format is really great for their formula.

There’s something that Fallout has always lacked for me that Elder Scrolls has had, and this feels closer to an Elder Scrolls game than a Fallout game, but I can’t put my finger on why. It feels like it has so much more life than Fallout. It does feel a little familiar, but it’s novel enough to make me want to sink hours into it and get lost again.

My 20-series GPU handles the game perfectly. There have been a few bugs, but it has been pretty stable for the most part. It runs alright on Steam Deck too—if you’re willing to handle ~30 fps or lower. The lowest settings actually look quite good.

So far, I’ve really enjoyed it. I’d really recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of Bethesda RPGs and looking to get lost again in a new universe.
