Some interesting mechanics and a story that is far deeper (and myesterious) than first meets the eye. Easy to pick up and a lot of fun with friends! :)

A delightful combination of the setting and vibe of Dark Sun and the gameplay mechanics and writing of Sunless Sea/Skies. If you love either, you're gonna be in for a good time. :)

Protips:
- You can march your comitatus without too much impact, so long as you still have half of your slowest unit's movement leftover. (eg. horses/beast of burden, leave 3 movement at end of day).
- You can fully mount your comitatus. If done correctly an option will appear ('Fully mount') that you can click on - you need to ensure EVERYONE has an available horse.

Summary
+ Excellent writing
+ Large world area with plenty to do (100+ hours and i'm still doing quests)
+ Intuitive trading mechanics
+ Art is on point

- Companion combat is still a bit janky
- RNGesus can be a bastard sometimes
- Some quality of life improvements could still be in there (eg. ease of comparing potential profit on the price lists)

Sidenote: I'm horrified at the current top most review with the thumbs down. He claims he was disappointed with the promised area size but let me tell you - its already pretty damn big, and is comparable (or larger) to Sunless Seas. As mentioned there is PLENTY to do and i find it more than adequate for the asking price and experience (once again, i'm over 100 hours and still haven't finished a lot of story threads). That guy put in 30 hours. I can guarantee you that he's just being an ass. Take it from me, you can ignore that review.

Pew pew simulator 2020: childhood x-wing fantasy come true

Pro-tip: Do the full campaign before trying to fly in multiplayer - it really does cover everything. And you're gonna need it.

A really solid campaign (which acts as a really long tutorial) and some seriously addictive team based PvP action. Even though it really only has two scenarios currently (dogfight and fleet battles) i never found myself getting bored of it. Well optimized and simple to pick up but with quite a bit of nuance to master in the merciless crucible that is multiplayer combat. Highly recommended!

Hands down the greatest local co-op game of the decade!

(...and also the game on which my relationship with my gf is based on - thanks Team 17 :p)

Easy to learn, intuitive, and oh so easy to get new players to try (you're a chef! We cook! TOGETHER!) and yet it's incredibly challenging and involving at times, this is one game which will stand the test of time.

Protips:

- It's really easy to forget since it doesn't appear when you select your weapons with your mousewheel, but remember that you have a BFG (once you get it). Absolutely essential to get out of some of the tougher spots, the default key is 'T'.

- Same goes for the chainsaw. Remember to use this when you need ammo/health as it causes enemies to spew. Default is 'G' or press '1' twice.

- Remember to use your equipment! Grenades and holograms are the most useful, default is F1/F2 to select what to use, and middle mouse to use it.

On to the review... Loved this remake, and everything about it has been so well done with probably the best optimization in a game i've seen to date!

+ Great single player campaign and maps
+ This is a remake, not a sequel - Doom actually has a proper (and interesting) story now!
+ The game looks GORGEOUS.
+ Rewards fast and smooth gunplay, none of those stealth and conservation hijinks here.
+ Really liked the RPG-esque weapon/armour/ability levelling and customization.

- Boss fights can be a little underwhelming...
- Didn't really get sucked in by the multi-player aspect. Lots of options but kind of boring.

All in all, one of the best games i've played in a long while, made me realize how much i missed the adrenal injection that was the original DOOM - highly recommended! :)

Protip: Always be on the lookout for yellow cables - be sure to follow them! ;)

A short but beautiful game which just oozes mystery and masterfully uses tension. Puzzles are very well crafted, being just challenging enough to wrap your head around but also being intuitively solvable in a fairly short amount of time. Format of the game is very much as a side-scrolling adventure with minimal controls (very evocative of Another World or Flashback).

All in all, i enjoyed it very much!

Protip: Body armour is a MUST!

Simulator where you play a dispatch operator overseeing a city/district's police, fire and medical services, with some elements of planning, purchasing and outfitting your resources prior to handling the numerous calls.

While the game is not very deep strategy-wise (the maps are just different overlays with routes) the game does have a certain charm to it, and can be quite challenging - memorably so - at numerous times. The best feature by far are the actual 911 calls which you have to handle, the voice acting and decisions you have to make to communicate to the caller are very well voice acted and thoroughly immersing. You'll probably learn a thing or two as well about real-life responses through bitter experience... ;)

The other great feature is the career mode with unique events - with everything from riots, earthquakes and snowstorms being thrown at you to make for a unique and flavourful experience.

Overall, a simple but entertaining game, well worth the asking price!

A good effort of a game that could have been a great one, but fell far short.

Pro Tip: Only chapter 1 is different for each of the factions. Extended Campaign option does have additional cut scenes and two extra missions. Also, never send your guys off on their own. ;)

Basically a fully fleshed out version of X-Com: Enemy Within's covert and intelligence ops feature, so if you played and liked that you'll definitely enjoy this.

Interestingly, the setting is very well done and detailed for the time period, and surprisingly i found the actual story to be actually quite good - rare for a game of this type.

I've got to applaud the devs for creating a game with some very unique, flavorful and interesting mechanics (eg. intel board, MKULTRA, etc.) BUT i've also got to berate them for some bizarre game design choices which detracted from the reality of the setting or even simple intuition (eg. weapon tiers, agents investigating are location based but deployed teams are not, lots of useless skills/traits, etc.). I also wish it didn't get so grindy towards the end, more variety in missions and parameters would have helped in this as well as some logistical management of your cabal of agents - one of the most fun aspects of xcom. Like many other things in this game, it's there... but not quite.

At the end of the day, i did enjoy Phantom Doctrine and especially its setting and premise and for that i would recommend you give it a try. Looking forward to a sequel with the lessons learnt - this really does have the potential to be a game for the ages if done right.

A simple and fairly linear (a few choices made tho) point and click adventure - the story was all right, and the setting was interesting. No 'meh/ok' button, but if there was i would click it.
