Story is good but the game is a buggy mess. No testing was done here, I am sure of it.

Issues I encountered and didn't find no solid fix:
* Broken fullscreen mode, game doesn't even start. If I start the game windowed, and the fullscreen, it's locked in 60 FPS mode. Mod can fix that.
* Broken borderless window mod. Taskbar shows trough, had to make it auto disappear, still the game doesn't cover the right side of my display.
* Sometimes cutscenes freeze in place, with only the sound going on.
* Game takes as long to load as freaking Cyberpunk did.

I get the game is old, but these are things that other games, older games, had done right.

Super fun game, although not many people talk about its technical flaws. It feels like they spent most of their budget on creative talents and barely any on the technical side.

The story is fun and lighthearted, the visuals are amazing, and the sound effects are top-tier (when they work).

However, the game is ridden with bugs — and people say Cyberpunk is bad. I was constantly getting stuck in environmental objects just by exploring. I even had to reload the game twice because I got trapped and couldn’t die to escape. DLSS Frame Gen is terrible, turning the game into a stuttery mess, and it often fails to utilize 100% of the GPU. At least FSR Frame Gen works pretty well. The audio engine is also a mess. Sounds are often not at the volume they’re supposed to be. Sure, it’s “high dynamic range,” but explosions should still be louder than someone talking. And why can I hear an enemy far away speaking louder than my character delivering important story dialogue?

It’s these little annoying things that don’t break the game but still detract from the experience. It’s enjoyable overall — it just makes you wonder why they didn’t fix these issues.

The developers really pulled this one out of the ditch. And the best thing is, they are not done! The game is constantly being improved and update, in Minecraft-like style. One sad thing about the game is that it has a lot of features but they are not very deep. I guess this is great for newcomers, but once you get into all the systems, you find yourself wanting for more.

The community is also amazing, lot of helpful & positive people. If you chill in the MP lobby, they literally keep spamming you with valuable items. I even got a few ships for free from a stranger!

Amazing game plagued by a terrible launch ruined by greedy management.

This next-gen, Ghost in the Shell-inspired, Nvidia tech-demo is definitely worth your time. After all these years, the game has been fixed (very minor bugs still exist, but that's true for every modern game). It is on par with the quality you would expect from the creators of The Witcher series.

The story is amazing, full of hard and meaningful choices, and you can truly form your character the way you want to. The expansion is also superb and well worth its price; I would argue it is even better than the original story.

Sadly, the game doesn't allow a lot of creative freedom when it comes to vehicles, clothes, and weapons, but the healthy modding community around this game can fix that. This is my only negative opinion.

So go, make some friends and then kill them!

Super cute and relaxing game. The story is not the most interesting, but it's easy to follow and just turn your brain off. Sadly it's not that long, it can be finished in around 2 hours.

Got it for 3 euros, definitely worth it.

I don't get all the negative reviews.
It isn't optimized. It has bugs. Frame gen only works when it is in the mood to do so.
But it is a FREE DLC/Mod, you can play the OG game whenever you want.
Also this was released in 2007, and now nVidia took the time to add RTX features to this 16 year old game, what do you expect? This game is older than some users here...
Doesn't run on AMD? Again, it's by nVidia, what a surprise...

I think it's a nice mod that makes this old wonderful game look greater than ever. If your PC can handle it, this is definitely the way to play Portal!

Here is the signature apex experience as a returning/new player:
1. Load into a casual game with some apex predators
2. Hot drop
3. Die within 2 minutes of landing
4. Repeat from step 1
