This is a great game. However, there is no point in buying it unless it's on sale for less than DQXI S and you don't care about the additional content of the newer version.

This review is meant for people who've played other Monster Hunter games.

I've played every Monster Hunter game since Monster Hunter: Freedom 2. Monster Hunter is my favorite game franchise. Monster Hunter: World introduces many new and different mechanics, but is still at it's core a Monster Hunter game.

Changes to the game I dislike:

Story mode - You must go through parts of the story solo until you reach a certain point. This means that if you and friends want to progress quickly, you all end up doing the same story quest solo and then abandoning it once you complete a cutscene, Just to re-post the quest and do it together. It should have been easy to incorporate full multiplayer throughout the story.

Multiplayer scaling - Monster health and resistances (to KO, status effects, and breaking parts) is multiplied by around 2.2 once anyone joins your quest. The multiplier is much too high for part breaking. This means that unless your team is coordinated and focuses on each part to break, you definately won't break every part. Because of this, it can easier to farm for specific materials only attainable through breaking parts solo.

No Guild hall or village quests - It's all solo or multiplayer. In previous games, soloing quests from the guild hall (or doing high level guild quests in MH4U) was a fun way to challenge yourself. Now you must go on quests with people and disconnect in order to have more challenging solo quests.

Other changes:

Decorations - While I don't entirely dislike this change, I much preferred charm farming (& GQ set farming in MH4U). Once you get near end game, you start obtaining decorations in the quest rewards. Decorations and slots have 3 levels; a level 2 decoration can be equipped into a level 2 or 3 slot, but not level 1. Armor pieces still have up to 3 slots. The end game is Decoration farming.

Overall, this is an excellent game, even with the changes I disliked. Buy it.

I purchased No Man's Sky only knowing vaguely what it was about. I did not have high expectations for this game like many people seemed to have. The first 15 hours were fun. I was exploring vast, beautiful planets, finding bizarre creatures, and upgrading my equipment and ship. However, you quickly start to notice how repetitive the game gets. Planets, animals, and plants start to look less and less unique every hour you play.

The launch honestly felt like a beta. The game would crash randomly every few hours and I ran in to plenty of bugs during game play. No Man's Sky is poorly optimized as well. I am running it @ 2560x1440 on an i5 4690k @ 4.3Ghz, 16GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, and an Nvidia GTX 980Ti. The frame rate bounces from 30-60 fps frequently, even when walking around inside a building.

While No Man’s Sky isn’t a bad game, I cannot recommend it at its current price. If you enjoy this style of game play, pick it up on a 50% off sale. Considering the reviews No Man’s Sky is getting, it shouldn't take long for a price drop.

If you like old school RPG's, challenging bosses, and the occasional grind, this game is for you.

On Normal difficulty, the game is fairly easy and bosses aren't too hard once you figure out their pattern. If you want a broken controller, try beating the game on Nightmare.

The soundtrack for this game is awesome as well.

Dark Souls 3 is a mix of all previous Souls games, and it's great.

The game runs at a constant 60FPS on max settings at 1440p and has not crashed once. Hardware: i5 4690k @ 4.3Ghz, GTX 980Ti, 16GB RAM @ 1600Mhz.
