It's played like this. Ya come into the world, practice your abilities. Have your first run. You probably die. But that's okay. You begin to understand the game little by little, making more progress than you did in the last run. You know, like a rogue like.

The characters are really fun. They each have a unique playstyle. You've got ranged characters, melee and assassin characters, Geppetto lets his dolls do most of the work for him as he hangs back trying to keep them alive.

Although it's in Early Access I have not experienced any issues if any at all. I have seen weird stuff with enemy hp like 0hp bar still showing over a dead enemy leading me to believe it had .1hp left or something and once before an enemy's hp bar disappeared so i thought it was dead, but it was still alive. It might've been because its hp bar was hidden amongst my doll's hp bars.

Someone else has brought up give the characters skins! I think it would be cool to have a skin for your favorite character. There can be a Sandman shop outside of the world you fight in in which he has skins or apparel, and other items to make the game more interesting. Maybe items that are like modes for the game that gives everything increased movement speed, everything deals 100% more damage. Some crazy stuff like that to spice the game up even more.

I don't like Geppetto's quest for his power attack. The quest wants you to hit enemies with a max charged power. You have to KNOW/FEEL the distance that you need to be away from an enemy and I found that frustrating. I thought it was a matter of charge and release, but rather it's a hold right click as you travel to land the attack. It is considered at max charge at the end of the travel and it doesn't seem like the largest window because it eluded me at times after I finally figured that out. It was inconvenient enough to make me not want to build around that ability anymore.

Where's the achievements, home dog? Let's get them in eventually. Glad this game was found.

I would like to be able to track my crit chance and crit damage.

The Pigs with Hooks have a misleading hitbox. The hitbox makes it appear as if the hook will miss, but it hits anyway.

Only 5 hours in, but i'm gonna write a review anyway. I thought I got this game for like 5 dollars, but I got it for 25.97. I was thinking the whole time "what a steal!" I am not unhappy with paying as much as I did for this game. I will beat this game.

The game rewards exploration with hidden chests, hidden shops, and hidden areas. Very often i'm just looking for the way forward or a hidden chest and then I stumble upon something rewarding like a shortcut, loot, a new map that I didn't suspect was nearby, etc; it's all good stuff.

Combat is easy, you've got your 1, 2, 3 combo, you've got a shield, bombs, pots, and other utilities that are easy to use.

The music blends in with the scenery and is easy on the ears.

There are various enemy types from slime likes, knights, skeletons, angry birds, and so so.

There is no dialogue and the story is up to interpretation. You develop an understanding as you progress and retrieve pages of information that are still not completely spelled out. It's very fun to feel that there is a mystery to be unraveled when it comes to what's happening in the game and "what the heck does this do!?"

There is no difficulty setting just like a souls like. It's challenging enough for me. You can swim past some of the fights, other fights mess ya up. I like that variation in difficulty with enemy types just as much as I like the variety of enemy types. I like them good nuff!

I like them colors! So vibrant! The look of the game, so simple and eye grabbing! Much wow!

Alright cons if any:

There's the targeting system which is simple at first. You just hold shift to lock on to enemies. I have not found a convenient way to switch between enemies when there are many of them and so I could be swinging or blocking in the wrong direction and obviously that leaves me vulnerable. I have had another problem with that while traversing the map with a tool for crossing gaps. You have to lock on to points that allow you to traverse gaps. There's an area that spawns enemies on top of the point you need to traverse to. What this does is it causes you to pull in the enemy and in this situation I was on an island of sorts, a minecraft block wide, and as I pulled the enemy they fell below my attack range, dodging my attack. There were two others who proceeded to blast me while I had little space to dodge around on. I was a sitting duck because I could not easily traverse like I wanted. I found that using the directional keys allows me to change my target, but it feels inconvenient to use when you have to use semicolon for blocking along with j, k, and l for attacking and such and so I cannot simply defend myself while switching targets.

There is a mechanic in the game, that I'm not sure if I should speak on in detail about so I won't, which you need to know in order to progress in the game. I had not seen an indication for its use in the player book in game. I was stuck in multiple areas and spent time roaming around the large map looking for things that I had missed until I eventually just played around with some things and accidentally found the way to progress. This is me saying that the element of mystery can lead you to become lost or confused. I suggest that if anyone with low patience becomes stuck you should google it.

Again, I've only played 5 hours. My feelings on the game may change later, but as for right now I'd say get it if you're looking for a challenging yet relaxing experience. Or maybe it's challenging at times and relaxing at other times. It's up to the player, I reckon.

Beaten it at 28 hours. Final notes. The game has so much mystery because you're constantly trying to interpret characters on paper that you cannot understand, which is the intention. I learned about the end game secret mechanic, started doing the secret dance and what not, and the whole time I was so confused. Does it want me to input this or that? Oh, it wanted something else for this one. I felt like some details were missing, which is usually intentional, but I had no idea how to go about doing some other things that I found for the find all the secrets challenge. It has kept me up 'til 5 in the morning. I punched in so many key combos, obviously first doing the ones I was supposed to do, and nothing would work so I just went and had my 35 attempts at killing the boss and got the sad ending. Sad ending didn't make me feel great, but it was still a great game. Maan, that sucks...

What I love the most about the game is that I am constantly busy managing my resources and planning for improvements for my raft. It's like having projects you want to build in Minecraft and to get exactly what you want for your vision you may have to be patient or just go out and gather it. I would give the ability to be creative with the raft a 3/5. The requirement for posts to support upper floors can get in the way of your vision of what your build is supposed to look like. It also gets in the way of double beds/king size in some situations for those of you who care about it. It limits your space and you just don't want to run into a pole so often inside of a structure. Besides that I like the options for painting, window sills, furniture, paintings, and trophies which can be framed on the wall. Combat isn't complex, you just stab. It's fun running through the large important maps solving puzzles or fighting bosses. That part makes this a real adventure. If you don't know what you're doing you are sure to get bored because the chores are endless and so it helps to do the adventuring part where you find survivors and find clues to their story and such. You will lose interest more quickly if you're constantly farming materials from the water and land because that is the constant chore and so it's good to take a break if you need it and go back to adventuring. I'll give the game a 4/5. Fix the bug where you lose your cup if you spam interact while putting sea water into the purifiers because it consumes what cup or bottle i'm using. Make it so the bird has to be in flight before it can drop the rock because I melee it while it's on the ground and the very moment it goes a cm off the ground I take fallen rock damage and i'm sure that's not fair :). Make working with poles more convenient for my gf and I :) She also broke a block that had our giant shark trophy on the otherside and I think the trophy was deleted :) dropped items are difficult to pick up when the waves scoop them up and then underneath the raft so the items are floating underneath and inside the raft. Make the items collide with the top of the foundation or something please.

It's not bad. There's things in it that annoy me like having the counter attack button be the same as a utility so sometimes the utility is prepared and then you get hit. Very frustrating on higher difficulty. If anything i'd say the game has minor annoyances, but I enjoyed going across the map batmaning things in the face. I'd give it a 3.9 out of 5

I would not call it a horror game. It is a gloomy place made of wood, but i'd say it's simply a stealth game rather than a horror game. The environment has you surrounded by dead fish and corpses, along with the red coat men and dogs that want a piece of you, but the art style does not bring focus to these alarming and frightening details. My focus was only on the major stealth design of the game and that was fun.

There are atleast four enemy types in this early access and they are Red Coat Shotgunner, Axe, Torch, and dog. Early on the game teaches you how to maneuver around without being detected by the red coat men and you explore the environment to progress(I didn't say anything about puzzles). You eventually find your way to your main weapon, a cane that is also a rapier. Backstab, backstab, lure, and backstab some more. I loved utilizing shadows to remain in stealth, I would love for their to be hiding places like hiding under desks or perhaps let me hop onto a ceiling light so that I may watch them from above while they search for me. So far the options for hiding are out in plain sight so get behind objects, hide in the shadows, or run. The extra options would just give it the feeling of being the rat hiding under the fridge waiting for the people to leave. That aside I also love distractions such as tossing glass bottles to attract attention, breaking glass windows, though tossed books aren't loud enough but whateva.

I love the exploration because it rewards you for getting into whatever rooms you can and it rewards you well. I cannot yet use my rewards for the early access does not let you reach the place where you can spend your treasures so I found a safe to keep the things I want to use later if the data carries over.

The weapons. Seems pretty easy to use the sword and shotgun. The undertaker pistol was a bit underwhelming at first, but i'm thinking the normal slug rounds are only for stealth purposes such as taking out lights or silently detonating an explosive barrel. Outside of that, the undertaker slug rounds do not kill enemies with headshots. At least they don't on the second to hardest difficulty and the same applies with the revolver you should get earlier on. I was really hoping that they would be lethal, but they were no help against armored enemies. I thought a shot to the head would resolve my problems, but they only make them worse because they come after you. So the pistols have let me down, that was until I came to the conclusion that the revolver is to fight off armorless enemies by consuming as many bullets as it takes, and if you have to kill someone silently from afar then use the flame rounds for the undertaker pistol. It is possible to take out numerous targets with one round. Wonderful. I will accept these conditions, however I should've tested if the flame round kills the armored enemies in one shot.

Maneuvering through the map was easy and fun. You can control and stack objects to get to higher areas, you can climb ropes and chains to access other levels too, sometimes revealing secrets. I would not have expected that there is a climbing animation! That is the best part of maneuverability in the game. When you hold space bar you will climb up onto a platform that is about chest high. Wonderful! I do wish that there was the option to move even faster than you do after holstering your weapons. You can travel between maps via loading screen and so if i'm traversing across maps that i've cleared before, which I did, then I would like to move faster.

I reckon that's all I want to talk about for now. Wish I could have fought the creature in the house(Blown it up)

Teamwork makes the dream work. Have not touched pvp. Waiting for more missions to come out. You know what would be even more fun? Don't be back 4 blood, but give us all those acts and ♥♥♥♥ they did. I need more than the 2 missions. I love the game and can become addicted to it once there's more of a variety of missions to do. I don't care about the rogue like part of it so much because I want to level up specific weapons. Maybe I just haven't tried it out long enough so I'll go look into it at some point. I'm really enjoying myself. If difficulty options were a thing it could appeal to more people. I don't see why not.

Surprisingly fun seeing how I had given up on mmo's. I like being able to chain skills and autos as the fighter. Choosing perks for the skills is pretty cool too so that I can do great at aoe or do great at slaying bosses alone. Too bad once you get to chaos dungeons and Una's tasks it becomes something to sleep on because it's rinse repeat and waiting during travels or collecting resources yada yada.

Was playing with friends and playing alone. The friends dropped it pretty soon either because they lost interest or there were connection problems. They said they enjoyed the first game more compared to this one, but I liked this one more. Game isn't terrible, but i'm not interested in beating it anymore. What has made us all lose interest? Probably just some annoying stuff. There's that zombie that jumps on heads. If you try to jump stomp it or whatever you start teleporting mid air until it runs out of your lock on. It's annoying how when you're looting military vehicles a vehicle explodes in the distance, alerting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that run at you. Why does this have to happen everytime? They're annoying to deal with. They dodge and rush kinda like humans. It makes combat a little slow when you have to play smart. Playing smart isn't a bad thing, but when they're vulnerable to an attack, back stepping and having it go through them is bothersome making the combat slower because the enemy is often more invulnerable than the player who often faces numerous enemies at once. Chases aren't thrilling, more like an inconvenience. It's just you having enemies spawn in front of you through these bunker doors on the floor and if the character fails to do what you want in parkour you get punished. It's annoying killing the screaming hoes, but they still alert the runners. They didn't scream, how did they initiate a chase? Upgrading the mods takes too long. I think the requirement to upgrade them has too high a cost. You've got three mod slots and it takes a while to collect the trophies. I do not want to farm the zombies, but when I do I can only focus one mod for a while until it turns orange and then it takes a while again to do the same for the other mods for other slots and then you have throwables so it feels like you're ordinary for a long time before you can get strong. My friend leveled up kunai the most and could one shot common enemies. He's not really interested in the game much either. I reckon the way the game is designed was just unappealing to us.
