I think most can agree that this game has great gameplay and I can't even come up with a game with a similar style but it falls flat after a few hours. After 2-3 provinces you can be sure you did everything the game has to offer and don't need to keep going since there is also basically 0 story going on. It simply has no actual progress apart from getting 1 level higher gear.
The loot in general is kinda boring and just a game of chance to get good stuff.

Maybe they can fix this stuff with a big 2.0 kind of patch or a sequel. It has potential for sure.

A great game that made me write a review.

Very good game indeed.

It's a good game in itself and a cool idea but lacks actual content for that price and I was taking my time. It has a very nice and chill atmosphere though. The story was quite enjoyable even if it was kind of predictable.

Unfortunately the horror aspect goes under after 2-3 hours of gametime. The minigames for fishing are too easy and there are only 4 (?) of them. So that gets kinda boring after a few hours. You can make too much money too quick and you have no real threats to keep you from doing it. The game simply becomes too easy after the first hours. Later on you can just speed through the coeans without caring about the time or fog.

The game would greatly improve by having a hardmode or so. Making more minigames, making the nights way more threatening, less money for fish and more expensive upgrades. That would make the "upgrade shrines" more meaningful too. Adding more points of interest as well. The timed quests weren't that big of a deal for me but they should at least making a subtle hint to you that they are. (maybe they did and I missed it but I doubt it)

I am also kind of disappointed that we didn't get a lot of big monster from the depths (the thing that is actually scary) encounters. The only ones are the leviathan, which you can only see once and then again at the ending cutscene but it's never a threat to you while you are playing. And the one from the first main quest. The kraken was only a gimmick but was ok. And the 3rd and last "enemies" were a real letdown.

Get it when it's half price. Would be my recommendation.

6/10

This game is a Love Hate relationship game. I absolutely love the setting and idea but hate the game at the same time.

It's probably one of the worst optimized games I've ever witnissed (♥♥♥♥ fps even with high end gear). Every new "patch" they introduce new bugs. Servers are ♥♥♥♥ and crash often. Hitreg sucks. Dysnc up the arse. And much more. The game is also an rng-fest and just unfair in general. There is a thread in their forums that collected all the bugs and let me tell you. It's more than enough for 10 games. The game simply feels like early access.

If they keep this up then game is gonna die in 1 year or so. The playerbase is already slowly disappearing. I wouldn't even be mad, even after 2k hours.

I only played the coop part of the game (!) The single player doesn't seem so bugged.

The game itself is a pretty generic turnbased game. Nothing really special about it. It's not terrible per se, you can have some fun with it outside of coop.

The coop is the biggest and buggiest mess I've ever witnessed in a videogame.
- infinite loading screens where your only fix is to load the coopgame in single player, save after the infinite loading screen and reload that in coop (problem is the game has 100 of screen transitions that make you go out of the game and reload 24/7
- the loading screens itself are waaaay to long for the size of the maps, even small maps with 1 room load for at least 30 seconds, and me and my friend use SSDs
- the constant manage squad window that appears when you load a game in coop is also very annoying and useless, this very window can bug your sound at HQ too (sound gone at HQ)
- Sometimes the game soft resets. That means your quests will be gone and you won't be able to progress. It just happens out of nowhere, there is barely any indication why and when it happens (sometimes you can see the HP of your enemies change, that means the game just reset on a different difficulty). You always have to check your fame and quests and have multiple saves ready, because if you don't you will be out of luck and are forced to make a new game
- The combat seems buggy all the time, sometimes you get AP back out of nowhere especially the sniper, without any luck triggering, lucky hits don't quite work all the time too, and many things more, and since the game has no combat log for you to check if things working properly you can only guess what just occured. It just feels like as if nothing is working as intended and it's frustrating
- constant message bugs on your screen like location names not going away, or dialogue bubbles stucking on screen and bugging around
- the highlighting loot/things to interact drops the fps every time you click it
- enemy AI is pretty bad
- some of the voice acting is really slow and obnoxious to listen to
- ingame map feels useless since you can't click on it to go where you want, it's always paused and not real time at any given moment

There are many more bugs.

It's so clear that coop was made in the last moments, because even the UI and mechanics are not made for coop.
- if you are in a dialogue and you friend listens to it, he cannot go out of it anymore, he has to listen to it until I finish it and if I was afk he wouldn't be able to exit it at all.
- if my coop partner exits the game I too are forced to quit it, I don't even have an option.
- the shared inventory makes no sense for coop and it's really confusing when the other player can just sell things out of your inventory (vice versa), my friend sold some of my weapons that I was still using because he had no indication of what he can sell and what he could not
- you don't lose AP by changing inventory mid combat, which makes quickslots redundant (there are even quickslot skills etc) The only AP cost would be weapons because you have to reload them when you change them up
- I literally cannot start a single player game now without losing my coop saves, let that sink in. My initial reason to buy this game was coop, and since coop is so buggy I can't do anything with it

There are so many bad design choices in this game it's really puzzling. I don't even feel like counting the good things because there is so few of it. It was my worst coop experience, period.

2/10 game (only for coop)
5/10 for singleplayer, if the singleplayer is bug free

The game needed more time, or at least early access to test the damn coop.
I won't buy from them ever again, even if they fix all the bugs because I don't support this kind of development and neither should you.

Edit:

There is one thing I don't understand at all. I read and heard a few times about "you can do different quests and have your own playthrough in coop, you don't have to stay with your coop partner and make your own path" etc

First of all it seems counter productive in a coop game. Secondly you cant even do that. There are so many screen transitions nodes with loading (it's not really open world like divinity for example) - you literally cannot leave the transitions on your own. Your coop partner has to be close and he always comes with you. So what's the point?

I played the alpha/beta and i can say it's a fun and interesting game but not for this price. The average match duration is 10-20 minutes and the only thing you do is hunting a monster or get hunted, i'm not saying this is bad but it misses content and the Day 1 DLC makes it even worse.

I'll buy this game if it's at 20-30 euro that's what it's worth.

The Game is awesome and grimdark and totally addicting but be warned it is proven to have serious issues on steam (can't start with win 7 etc.) Though the game works perfectly on windows 7 don't let people fool you. The only problem is that the game doesn't work with STEAM - so if you buy the steam version you most likely can't even play it like me and many others.
So if you want to buy the game buy it somewhere else.
