This game is a genuine masterpiece. From the intense and awe-inducing first step you take into this seemingly endless world all the way to the last bloodhound pack you get mauled by as the new Elden Lord, this game takes your breath away. I've been a fan of the Souls games since Dark Souls 1 and get so excited for each new installment. Elden Ring is a game that will swallow you whole in its truly deep and rich environment. I'd often find myself getting off track from the main questline and end up fighting miners in a dungeon, sniping birds with my bow, or go around spamming my Y button collecting various crafting items. Going from area to area, I never felt pressured to finish the game; There was always more items to collect, somewhere to go, or something to kill. While exploring the ever-diverse fauna and wildlife the game has to offer you find yourself just panning the camera and and watching as the world you once thought revolved around you, the player, keeps moving while you stand still, stunned by its gaze. Whether its the birds chirping, the big (weird) bowling balls rolling, or the beautiful boss arenas singing their opera, the sound design in this game is impeccable. While raw gameplay is similar to the other Souls games, especially Dark Souls 3, its still captivating and challenging to master. There isn't a better feeling then beating a boss you've been struggling on for what seems like eternity. Elden Ring's replay ability is also as with each Souls game still apparent. This is a game that will captivate it's player base now and in the years to come and I can't wait for the next installment in the Souls-Borne franchise.
