Hey you! Yes, you!

Do you like racing games? Did you play the first The Crew™ game and love it's story driven atmosphere? Do you enjoy racing games with good physics and easy but realistic handling?

If you answered yes to all the above questions, then stop reading this review, click off this store page and find another game to play.

The Crew 2 had my expectations high after the revenge fueled, cross-country racing game that the first installment was. However, it seems more like the devs were no longer interested in story and wanted to attempt to (important word choice for later) copy the model behind the success of the Forza Horizon series.
The one thing this game really lacks to make it a successful Forza Horizon sister game is the physics. Even with all stability control turned off, the cars grip way too much to simply have fun with them. The gravity is funky, feeling too heavy at times and the UI is reversed. Who puts the Minimap on the bottom right and not bottom left like EVERY OTHER RACING GAME? (this wouldn't have been mentioned if there was a way to change this in the game's settings)

Overall first impression is a cheap knockoff of Forza Horizon with worse physics and handling. Bonus points for diversification of racing, taking to the sea and air, but not enough to redeem itself. If you want a social influence-driven, large-mapped, competitively casual, open world racing game centered around a massive festival of motoring, just download Forza Horizon 4.
