Starfield is YABG (Yet Another Bethesda Game) except this time in space. It doesn't do a whole lot that's new for Bethesda, and honestly? That's okay. It's still a buggy mess (though less so). It's still got the same quest structure. The new systems are fun: ship building and combat especially. It's a honing of what Bethesda is great at while highlighting just how little they've changed in the last decade. When it's good, it's great and when it isn't good it's sorta bland.

All that said, this is the first Bethesda Main Story I've completed. Ever. Morrowind? Oblivion? Skyrim? Fallout 3 and 4? Multiple thousands of hours, and this is the first one. Part of that is because, well, I love space and sci-fi. But the other? Bethesda has added a New Game+ system that ties in to the story of the main quest, and actively encourages you to beat it and play again, just to see what's new and different.

This game won't be for everyone, for all of the reasons stated above, but I can't help but love this game all the same.

The music alone is enough to make this game worth playing, but throw in a great story, stylish art, and a combat system that keeps you engaged, and you have the recipe for one of my favorite games of all time.
