From a Forza Motorsport veteran, I am truly disappointed with Microsoft. Lets be clear, this game is not Turn10's fault.

At first glance, or from the initial drive, the game had promise, felt almost like Motorsport 7 in a good way. The lighting, cars, weather, and the controls all felt familiar. The difference is not as big as I had anticipated with regards to physics. After a few trials, a couple races, and a few test runs through my favorite circuit (most of which were kind of forced for progression sake), I have deduced that this games problem lies in what Microsoft dreams of ALL its environments.

The "ONE and ONLY" concept is what MS has been attempting through a couple different means. We saw this with the largest of their attempts with the release of Win8, touch screens, and surfaces. A total nightmare. Then again with Windows 10 as their "last operating system", that clearly was not the case. MS has been purchasing games developers and cornering as many markets as possible. One account, an MS account, for your computer account, email, gaming, office, web browsing, security, web hosting, cloud networking. They love the idea of having you rely on them, and to some extent we do.

This game might just be the most obvious example of MS attempting to control what we can and cant do. They removed all access to older Motorsport games to get us to rely on something so poor in quality, that MS themselves seem to be taken aback by the response. What was wrong with the currency system in Motorsport 7? What was wrong with having additional track settings (full reverse circuits and half circuits)? Why is the car selection so limited? Why are we not allowed to even access our purchases of older games?? Hundreds of thousands of people with hundreds of thousands of hours spent combination of millions of dollars and MS excuse for not keeping these games accessible is that 'licencing is too expensive'. So what is going to happen when this games licencing for cars and circuits is up? Oh don't worry, this is totally the last Forza motorsport game, Im sure of it.

I purchased the premium edition this game at 50% off, the only way I'd buy a game anymore. I get all the future cars, races, and other content that SHOULD be part of the game in the first place.

IN SHORT,
Don't pay full price, you'll only be disappointed.
