Can't recommend this game enough for anyone who likes SCP and Half-Life. The gameplay is much like Ark or Rust, however there is an actual progression system and you feel like you're accomplishing something rather than playing around in a sandbox.

Just spent 24 hours building up to bronze armor and weapons, searching for the swamp after my decisive triumph over the Elder. He was a tricky beast, but as the trolls before him, he too fell. I took to my Karve and set for the sea, all that I needed in hand to raise a fort and conquer the beasts of the swamp. This island has ran out of offerings for me. There, I had found the swamp.

Upon building my fort, I had realized that I did not bring the gifts of the fire giant himself to construct a portal. This was okay, as there was much to be had in the swamp, I had thought. So, into the swamp I go, with the same axe in hand that made efficient work of the Elder. That was, until, I was bit by a weird mosquito thing and died.

"No problem," I had told myself. I still have my raft. I will simply collect my belongings and pick up where I left off, this time with resources in hand to erect my portal home. So, my second voyage began, this time with clear line of sight and direction towards my goal. It was not an easy voyage. The wind was not in my favor, Odin testing me with each roar of thunder off in the distance. Still, with urgency, I pushed on.

And so I did. I pushed on for days (like, 20 minutes or something?) paddling my raft against the fierce wind to finish what I had started. I could finally see it: My bonfire. I had made it. It's fire glistening like a jewel against the calm coast. That was, until, the serpent of the sea showed up.

There was no taming this beast. It was my axe of flint and my measly wooden raft against this hell beast that the Gods have sent to conspire against me. With each thrash, it circles around mercilessly to line up for another, and with each thrash I am closer to my goal. After the third strike, I can see my raft beginning to waver. I knew that I was going to swim the rest of the way. I knew I could do it if I could sustain one strike of the beast: my lungs prepared for the brief swim to shore.

And so the raft fell. I struggled to the shore almost hopelessly against what to me in that moment was one of the Gods themselves, at it's mercy. Hoping it would go away and spare me.

And then that bull**** mother****** literally one hit me. Now my old corpse is gone with all the stuff that I spent over 20hrs collecting in this stupid ass game. Literally never felt this s***y from any other game and whatever developer thought this was a good mechanic, I hope you step on a Lego.

10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

Outstanding game. Co-Op is a great time. Doesn't even feel as dated as it is by far.

Meta takes some research to learn, especially with no respec capability. But once you find a good build guide, it's Diablo on steroids.

Simply put, this game is great. It takes you back to the feel of an old style metroidvania game, while throwing in some Rouge Like (lite) mechanics. It's a fantastic game that will keep you challenged, but at the same time allow for you to pick it up as a short time killer. That's really as much as I can say without spoiling the game. If you enjoy metroidvania games with a good challenge, there is no reason why this shouldn't be a part of your library.

Pros:
Difficult
Comical
Lots of variety
Rewarding

Cons:
A little bit shallow
Completing all achievements is a chore
Not very original

I can honestly say that this is one of the best game's I've ever played. Detailed enviornments, engaging combat, and deep lore. If you can get passed the fact that this game is difficult, you will enjoy it. There is so much more to this game than difficulty. It captures the essence of low/dark fantasy and truely immerses you into your surroundings.
