while it gets repetetive after a while, the repetetiveness is still always fun to come back to. I love the quiet atmosphere that leaves you tense and wondering what machines will come around the corner, I love the conflict of soviet vs FNIX machines, and i love the crafting, base building, and scavenging for survivors out there. Generation Zero has completely changed my understanding of apocalypse survival settings.

I do enjoy this game, minus the microtransactions egregious nature, the excessive amount of pay to win that there is, and the general idea that you cannot have fun casually playing because of the fact that the gameplay forces the existence of non grass touching try-hards on the game that basically make the game unplayable for people who just want to enjoy their vehicles. but all of that is minor by comparison to this idea, the warthunder devs request that we not put on negative reviews because it affects players. If the devs want to have more players playing their game, they need to listen to the community and remove what kills fun and add what empowers fun. that's the point of a VIDEOGAME

initially i wasn't expecting to have as much fun with this game as I did, but getting to experience both the frontlines and knowing that the warfront relies so heavily on logistics and how actual operations get conducted instead of simply oversized deatmatches, i immediately fell in love with the game. this is exactly how a war game should be!

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love these writers, the plot twists had me changing directions so much to the point I lost all my theories and had them blown out of the water! this is a fantastic read and I enjoyed literally EVERY WORD put into this! great job guys! can't wait for the next installment!

The Sunrider shall be reborn!

AAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!! THIS STORY IS SO GOOD! I can't wait for the next chapter, so much so that I was pissed off to learn that 2 wasn't the close. I need to know what happens next! the writing is so good, the characters are amazing, the second, succeeded at doing what the first did, which for me, is a first in any series: both chapters yanked tears from me! that's damn good writing!

This game is absolutely incredible!

Pre-Alpha and it already has enough functionality to be considered almost a complete game, and to think of the fact that so much more is coming gets me so excited I can barely hold it in.

Pros:

Wildlife makes me terrified, I get the feeling some nasty creature is about to come around the corner and bite my head off.

exploring planets is incredible, the darkness of a planet at night really makes people need lights. it's not so dark as to be pitch black, but dark enough that seeing where you're going without a decent light is difficult. the terrain is beautifully formed and able to deform with explosives, drills and the flatten filler tool (incredible thing there)

sunrise is an incredible thing to watch as well as sunset.

I find myself sometimes just staring out onto the horizon as I watch the other planets past the atmosphere

Building ships and bases is possibly my favorite part with the systems they have in place. back in space engineers, I usually built in creative. here, I'm building small ships that I never thought I'd build decently! thank you for giving me the ability to work decently with the necessary tools to build survival capable small fighters! now to work on capital ships and space stations!

Energy is a very interesting system of mining promethium (very creative, I like this!) as well as hydrogen.

the need for food, energy, and oxygen is present and especially functional.

Food perishing times make the game realistic on a whole new level.

spoiled food hurts you if you consume it, but helps you if you apply it to making planters.

fairly smart AI and interesting enemies to go toe to toe with.

Drones that periotically come to attack you in addition to troop transports dropping off infantry to your location.

the sense of terror when hiding from drones and seeing their spotlight in a green tinge pass over your cover! I had chills!

Ships having burning re-entry! YEEEEEEEE!!! :D

and so much more! play the game to see the rest of the pros!

Cons:

blocked off poles of the planets, soon to be replaced.

Capital ships causing your death and their destruction upon planetary entry

missing animations (but hey, pre-alpha so far)

entering void space and desync mishaps (however entertaining)

in my personal opinion, a lack of a certain few weapons for infantry and ships alike, I.E. Melee weapons and general melee ability for infantry, and a wider variety of weapons available for large ships and small. some of those guns on bases would actually work well on large ships.

no large doors to cover multiple block sizes, for example, hangar doors.

currently no way to bring hover vehicles into the atmosphere and store away on larger ships.

water doesn't fill in areas if drilling extends the water's fill area

all of these I believe will be resolved in later versions, and so, I'll continue to enjoy this game for what it is.


If you love sandbox games and even more so, love watching something grow, get this game, it is well worth the money

I've been a fan of this series since my early childhood back in the 1990s. the fact that it has been brought back and updated with the latest technology feels like a dream come true. adding in the new interfaces and game mechanics that allow Kushan and Taiidan to operate with Hiigaran and Vaygr in multiplayer simultaneously, the way they normally do is fantastic! a huge thanks to gearbox for bringing back and reviving such a masterpiece!
