Wonderful, unique roguelite! Cool take on deckbuilding, a lot more depth than first meets the eye, and buckets of charm. Well worth the price already, and there's plenty more to unlock and discover.

Minutes after throwing someone into lava, I turned into mostly cats, one dog. Karma I guess.

What a neat equation, with so much depth and control! This one's gonna be a keeper. And so polished, too!

I am relatively new to fighting games. I am relatively skeptical of anime aesthetics (sorry). This game is a complete joy, very snappy very stylish very satisfying.

I have not won a ranked game. It's the best.

I haven't been this captivated by a single-player game in ages. The campaign is engaging, and tugs you along at a comfortable pace, not forcing your hand as hard as XCOM (for better or worse).

The strategic depth feels limitless. As so often happens in tactical strategy games that incorporate RNGs, your plans will be thrown in a blender, but the plethora of decisions on any given turn in any given round makes for a game that always feels within your control.

Let's go back to that campaign. Holy moly is there a lot of lore. Now, the BattleTech universe has 3 decades under its belt, but for a relative newcomer like myself, I feel niether overwhelmed nor shorted by what this game offers. Lore is mostly presented in tooltips, accessible on highlighted words such as "LosTech," "C-Bills," or "ComStar," or on the names of the myriad characters in or accessory to the campaign's narrative. You know how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome that is? So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. When I just wanna blow some guys up and make some C-Bills, I don't need to wade through endless lore that I'll later regret skimming. But when I wanna take time to learn about some delicious space cow-lizards, or hear about the acolytes of a media conglomerate-turned-religion, I can sink my teeth in.

Uh, what else. It's pretty. Pretty pretty, not amazingly pretty but it sells the setting and gets the mood across. It can be a little slow, but there are some tricks to speed up gameplay and - or so I've heard - updates on the way to make these settings easier to access. I've had 1 crash so far, through 25ish hours, but it did come at the end of a difficult mission and it negated my progress.

But holy cow I just can't praise the high points enough. The setting and lore is amazing, at least to this newb. The story is a bit trite and at times predictable but is still totally awesome because hell yeah space feudalism! The choices are plentiful, my attachment is deep, and my ability to role-play is very unexpected.

Just do it. It's great. Everyone wants to compare it to XCOM, which is also great, but, IMO, this is better. Because it offers more of, like, everything.

Oh, the tutorials are hard to find, pretty skimpy, and leave a lot to trial-and-error, JUST LIKE LIFE. SUCK IT UP.

9/10 but don't take my word for it.
