Single-player was far more fun than I was expecting, and I ended up playing through three full "rounds" (playing every map each time) in a single sitting. The foundations of a very fun party game - even solo - are already in place. One map reminded me of nights playing Pokémon Stadium.

I'll be looking forward to seeing what else comes to Pool 2 in its continued development.

This game combines pinball, platforming, and collecting in an incredibly unique adventure. The duration is just about right, with some story elements being a bit too short, and some of the collecting requiring too much backtracking. I retired the game without achieving 100%, but it seems like that would only add another couple of hours after completing the main story.

This is one of my favourite games of all time, but as of November 28, 2022, there is an annoying bug which sometimes pops up on Steam Deck. When using default controls, your cards will not be able to target yourself or your enemies with the d-pad. It's hard to recall how often I encounter this bug, but usually once every 1-2 play sessions. You can play through it by using the touch screen, or you can restart your Steam Deck.

Slay the Spire is a perfect game on PC. As of Dec. 1, it's also perfect on Steam Deck.

It's an interactive screensaver and nothing more. Calling it a game is misleading.

Perfect for throwing your life away.
