This is my first playing Silent Hill 2 and honestly I wished I played either the original or this version a whole lot sooner than I did. This game had me feeling so much. I cried and I had to sit and think for a while after I finally beat it.

The environments make you feel like you're going deeper and deeper into hell, even literally jumping into deeper and deeper parts of silent hill. The combat is fun and engaging and it made me feel nice doing crazy ass dodges avoiding waves of enemies without getting hit. I had a steel pipe and a dream.

This version of the game has crazy frame drops and freezing and other tech issues though. Like sometimes my cursor will display on my other monitor moving around while I move the camera in game and I had to fix it by alt tabbing and re-maximizing the game which was really really annoying. Not enough to detract from the overall quality of the game for me but it was enough to make me incredibly annoyed sometimes.

The game looks pretty, possibly the best looking game I've played in a while. I think in horror, the look and sound of the game are very important, which this game delivers. I got lost in the game cuz of it, it was hard to remember these were polygons and textures a lot of the time.

Even though a lot of the events of the game were spoiled for me simply because this game is so old and I have access to the internet, I don't think it mattered much. The actual scenes they come up in were so emotional that they left me appalled.

As of writing this, I finished the game yesterday and got the In Water ending, I definitely plan on new game plusing this and getting some other endings in the future :D
