boring!

Mixed review-
Base building and teraforming is fun. World is cool. Combat has nice animations and is set up decently well.
Problem is that what you see at the beginning of the game doesn't change. The gear, the enemies, the movement. It gets stale because nothing is new and rather just reskins of starter gear.
Game has potential, could just need to cook. Would be a great game if developers spend more time on it to really flesh it out.
Can get about 15 hours of gameplay before it gets stale imo

Everyone has heard of Rust

Auto turrets ruined the game many years ago. They are genuinely the stupidest thing in existence on a survival game. Go within 60 meters of a base, in/through bushes, textures, wherever, and you get legally aimbotted by something with 100x more health than a player.

Then ofc there's always groups that somehow have 10,000 rockets by day 2 after wipe with a little "off-camera mining".

The "meta" of base design is extremely dumb and uncreative. There's no making your base look good without losing your base in a day, you're forced to make a menagerie of triangles and backwards doors (even then won't save you from unlimited rockets)

Cheating is a huge problem in Rust so there's no integrity to legitimately playing the game

The only cool things about the game are that the hammer tool is easy to use, it isnt as much as a running simulator as DayZ, there is proximity VOIP, and the gunplay is decent.
