The Masculine Urge to die for a cause greater than yourself is one of the prime reasons to play this game.

A PvE only shooter with some of the best gameplay I've seen in the genre, the stratagem system is unique and engaging, the way loadouts are handled make teambuilding somewhat important. And the two enemy factions are very different to fight against.

Been a long time since I've had this much fun with a game, I highly recommend it.

Warhammer 40K: Boltgun is a great FPS PvE Shooter. The combat and movement are smooth and allow for the player to engage at their own pace. There are not any drastically underpowered or overpowered weapons in the roster, and all of them can be used at endgame, and none of them share ammo. Ammo is everywhere so you won't be running out unless you are really bad at aiming. Level design is a little labyrinth, but it really isn't any worse than the original DOOM games,

Unlike a game like DOOM Eternal, there is not a counter system for enemies. Rather than making some weapons shut down annoying enemies, all weapons do viable amounts of damage and can be used for large portions of the combat encounters. As a result, player freedom is high when it comes to playing how you want. The only issues is that switching weapons via scrolling has a delay so you need to slowly cycle through the list, which is not great considering how fast the game plays.

The downsides to this game are unexplained mechanics and respawning enemies. For example, there is an ability called "Know No Fear" which will give you temporary invincibility when you take an attack that would have killed you. This is only told through tool tips on loading screens. It is not in the help section, which explains a lot of other mechanics. The respawning problem has to do with a lack of communication on how to beat combat encounters. This is not like DOOM where there is a set number of enemies. They will keep spawning fodder as long as the strong enemies are still in the arena. This is never told to the player.

The respawns themselves are also rough, they can spawn right next to you. On higher difficulties, the generic mooks do a lot of damage. They also have invincibility frames while spawning in. This means you can lose massive chunks of health without realizing it because enemies can appear where ever they want.

Overall 9/10. Those issues listed are the only issues I had throughout my time with the game. Level design has not been a problem and it isn't some lame linear path deal either. Some of the encounter issues I mentioned can be dealt with by just lowering the difficulty. Since I'm playing on Hard+, it should be expected for some issues to be exaggerated.

Great game, highly recommend.

This is legitimately one of the greatest games of all time. I never played through the original, but everything about this game just works. It is incredibly fun, offers a lot of choice to the player, and has high amounts of replay-ability.

My friends, it has often been said that I like war.

My friends, I like war...

No, friends, I love war!

I love genocides.

I love blitzkriegs.

I love defensive lines.

I love sieges, charges, I love mop-up operations, and retreats.

Wars across prairies, in streets, in trenches, in grasslands, in frozen tundras, through deserts, on the sea, in the air, I love every act of war that can occur upon this earth.

I love blasting the enemy to smithereens with artillery salvos that thunder across the lines of battle.

My heart leaps with joy whenever a soldier is tossed high into the air and cut to pieces by well placed sniper rounds. And there is nothing like a tank operator using an M1 Abrams to destroy enemy tanks. And the feeling that comes when a soldier runs screaming from his blazing tank, only to be mowed down by heavy machine gun fire, is such an exquisite feeling. Like when ranks of infantry brandish their bayonets rushing into the enemy line. It moves me deep within my heart to watch a fresh recruit stabbing over and over into the bloated chest of a long-dead enemy.

The sight of deserters being strung up from a street lamp is an irresistible pleasure. And there is nothing more arousing than the sounds made by prisoners of war dropping like flies, screaming in agony as they're mowed down by ear piercing firearms!

When a band of pitiful resistance fighters makes their final stand with nothing but small arms, only to have their city smashed to atoms block by block by 4.8 ton bombshells, I'm in ecstasy.

I love it when my forces are ravaged by a Russian armored division. It's so sad to see towns and villages that were supposed to be defended at all costs, being laid to waste, their women and children being tortured and killed.

I love to be squashed under the heel of the British and American war machines. The humiliation as my men crawl around like vermin, ducking the bombers flying overhead.

Gentlemen... All I ask for is war, war so grand as to make Hell itself tremble. Gentlemen, I ask you as fellow brothers in arms what is it that you really want? Do you wish for further war as I do? Do you wish for a merciless, bloody war? A war whose fury is built with iron and lightning and fire? Do you ask for war to sweep in like a tempest, leaving not even ravens to scavenge from this Earth!?

Look, basically this game is really fun if you wanna kill people with modern weapons.

It's open world Dark Souls 3 with more build variety than ever. As a result, some end-game areas and bosses are much more insane than anything else the series has created up to this point, but as long as you swallow your pride and use what the devs give you, it'll all be fine.

I absolutely love this game, just like I loved Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. I hesitate to call anything a masterpiece, but I can confidently say this is the pinnacle of open world RPGs, possibly even the pinnacle of gaming.

Buy it if you like any of the past Souls games or like open world action games.

So imagine a midway point between Call of Duty and Ground Branch, that's close to how I see Insurgency Sandstorm. The game has punishing gameplay loop and heavily rewards teamwork, but not to the point where a single player can't change anything.

Original Insurgency fans think the game has sold out to the casual Fortnite crowd because there are paid skins, and gameplay is now focused more around balance than realism. I can sorta see why, but if realism is what you're actually after then there is Arma 3, Ground Branch, Squad, etc.

I think focusing more on the balance helped out, because Insurgency 2014 was an unbalanced mess where half the weapons were worse than the combat knife and armor didn't matter because every weapon had AP rounds. In the case of Sandstorm, weapons have less crossover and attachments heavily influence the viability of a weapon. There is a lot of PvP focus on newer updates but if you play the game for the PvE, the the content updates spice things up a bit over there as well.

Insurgency Sandstorm is a good game, but exists in a weird vacuum where everyone hates it for not being the most hardcore milsim game on the market, but not being as casual and accessible as normal PvP FPS shooters. Grab it on sale or if you find yourself getting tired of one or the other FPS genres on the market.

Its one of Valve's most memorable games, it started a whole PvE co-op genre. The sheer number of mods allows you to change pretty much everything about the game. It runs well on pretty much any low-end system since 2011. Plus it goes on sale often, there is pretty much nothing bad about this game.

10/10 a masterpiece.

Its Halo, one of the most influential and greatest FPS series ever made, and now its on PC.

Edit. They've actually updated the games with even more free customization features than the games originally launched with, made them all permanently available, well most of them, and even went back to fix some parts of MCC that were broken on console like the audio. With the release of Halo 4, Reach and H2A Multiplayer now have complete interpolation and all the games work flawlessly at any frame rate as far as I know. This is actually incredibly improved over the initial release of MCC back in December 2019.

Custom Zombie is the savior of this game. Multiplayer may be dead, campaign was iffy, but the sheer number of mods for zombies is what keeps this game going.

Do you want a fast-paced PvE based arena shooter filled with top tier visuals? Do you want gore filled gameplay killing enemies that everyone can hate? Do you just want a great game?

Yeah buy this, they listen to community feedback, game is really well optimized. Gameplay is extremely fine-tuned and smooth. Probably the best PvE shooter out there gameplay wise.
