I just like this game man, idk.

As a solo game this is definitely harder than games like Hades to get into, but as you play, and level up your character to unlock more upgrades it definitely gets easier. Two levels are available currently with a 3rd on the way for the 1.0 release. Boss timer is perfectly set even for solo, but if you don't like the anxiety that comes with timers in games. You won't like this at all, and shouldn't buy it. But if you enjoy the pressure of a time crunch this game is great. It's definitely better with friends, no doubt about it, but it stands alone on solo just fine.

Also, if you're playing solo I think Mesumine is the strongest, but that might be my bias, but I've given every character a fair shake up to level 3 before swapping out, and she just feels the best for solo play.

Oh, and I should say that if you're playing solo I would almost ignore the " ! " quest on the map. The timer on that ticks a bit too fast for solo play for it to be feasible to get a decent enough fortification before the fight. Similar with the Sinbad encounter. You probably won't have the damage/stagger potential to beat the boss before it's over.

So admittedly there are some odd frame-rate issues, because of poor optimization, but so far I haven't encountered anything game-breaking. People mentioning crashing issues, but I've only experience that once in 26 hours of gaming actively. All-in-all this game is everything it was hyped up to be (genuinely shocking that that's possible), and is 100% worth your money

Isa good game.

It's one of the few games where the hours of grinding aren't mind-numbingly dreadful

Never played the first Risk of Rain, but this is absolutely one of my favorite time-killing games of all time. If I don't feel like playing any of my usual games. This is the very first game I hop to, and I can easily burn, and hour or two, and it's so so so much fun. It reminds me of The Binding of Isaac...in 3D....on crack....I love it.
