With the announcement of the DLC I repurchased the game on steam and ported over my offline save just to grab the few items I was missing (and trying to levelcap). In total I've clocked in about 500 hours into Elden Ring and I gotta say it's gotta be one of the greatest games ever created. From design to combat, they nail everything on the head and the level of detail they put into the open world is astonishing. Besides a couple technical gripes I still have, such as still no widescreen support and the 60fps cap (in 2024, really?), nothing mods can't fix (MODDERS BE BLESSED), this is likely the closest thing to a perfect game you will ever find.

My earlier negative review was for the awful performance issues that plagued the game, even for someone like me with a NASA computer, but most if not all these issues have been addressed and I'm now able to enjoy the game to its fullest.

derin ah ok i know that dark souls pc ports are always bad so i normally get darksouls games on console but i saw the mods on elden ring and had to buy it because of those mods and i got what i expected a port that sucks and required word

@Grogglen this is a day 1 review, never ended up updating because I never bothered to repurchase the game. As an oldschool dark souls guy I'm just tired of fromsoft neglecting basic features that even the worst ports have nowadays.

really? i have worse specs than you and it doesnt stutter at all

I'd like to bump this, my RIG is a 5900X with a 5700XT and the stutters are absolute horse shit. The input recognition is also completely botched.

@|K| haha keep projecting bud, I have one of the fastest SSDs on the market and i dont have McAfee. Also, theres no way you would be seeing that kind of performance on such an old setup unless you were playing at 360p on lowest settings.

BTW, latest patch + newest nvidia drivers has drastically improved the stutters (still present during load zones), theres also a 3rd party mod that uncaps frames and adjusts fov which makes the game WAY more enjoyable.

I'm just sick and tired of these fanboys that comment the most braindead stuff like "hur dur it works fine for me!!! Your pc is just bad!" when the performance issues are a documented problem for elden ring. I will not be content with performance issues when I paid SIXTY AMERICAN DOLLARS for a product.

I tried to install ER on my guest room PC (old Ryzen 1600 and GTX 1650) and I am getting solid 60 fps on low and stutters are super rare. I think people are running this game off an old mechanical HDD with McAfee and windows spyware eating up half of your performance capacity.

@dzpz yeah, rtx 2070 super gang cant enjoy this game fully. and i have a ryzen 7 2700 so yeah, cant play this game until optimization exists

I'm so glad y'all are able to enjoy the game, doesn't change the fact that the game is still stuttering for not only me but a lot of other gamers as well
