Here are a couple admining guidelines for those of you who are less experienced or usually admin by other guidelines.

Do not be a heavy-handed admin! If you are uncertain about someone breaking a rule, do NOT punish that person!

The punishment severity should also be relatively low. Tolerate people being uneducated/undisciplined! If they continue it even after multiple warnings, THEN proceed to punish more harshly.

Unwritten rules should not be enforced ruthlessly. People will just argue: It is not in the rules! You can enforce rules that are not in the rules, but be lenient.

Finally and most importantly. Be nice and forgive people! Encourage dialogue no matter how much you disagree with another person or how idiotic the other person is behaving! If you show effort in mending problems you will have an easier time admining people and they will be less out to get you!
