This is exactly what a AA video game should be - a clear idea, polished and honed without trying to over-reach. It knows exactly what game it is, everything that's there fits together beautifully, and has been polished to a shine. In terms of making a solid game that you will play and love, it's brilliant, and, if you like a good strategy game, you should buy it.

If for some reason you need more, OK then! Battlesector is a modern turn-based strategy game, where armies of the Emporer's own Blood Angels clash explosively with the endless swarms of the Tyranids. Each turn, you move your units and use their limited Action Points to fire a range of weapons or slash things to pieces in close quarters. There's a really neat momentum system in play which spices up tactics in an asynchronous way - the Blood Angels need to keep moving, keep killing. Tyranids need to keep their rank and file in packs, coordinated by their bigger units. The strategy is beautiful - Space Marines are walking tanks, methodical and deadly. The Tyranids flow around like deadly water, ripping everything to pieces in melee range. They have really nailed the lore and the feel of the armies.

Everything is rounded out in a solid graphical presentation, the art is excellent, the graphics competent. The voice acting and music are just excellent, and (barring a bit of jank in the movement of some units), rock-solid.

This is how a WH40k game should be, and a great way to use the licence.
