Early Access Review
a quick review:

Commendations:
  • Gameplay is fun and addictive - a mixture of being creative, logical thinking, and quick action
  • Multiplayer support works well, latency compensation seems to work
  • Linux support, including Linux server support (build with graphics disabled)
  • Lack of intrusive DRM

Criticisms:
  • Game is still in alpha, there have been a few bugs so far
  • Story is sparse - the endgame is not as satisfying as it could be
  • Graphics are relatively low resolution, though apparently this might be updated in the future
  • Color palette is dark, and there is some color-coding, but I feel like there could be better visual indicators. Complex factory layouts can be overwhelming at times.
  • Multiplayer currently lacks a method of downloading mods automatically.
  • Pipes are very annoying to deal with, since they block your path and there are so many different fluids to transport.
  • Train signals are mildly confusing, although there are some visual markings to help explain how to use it. Sometimes it is hard to predict how the trains will handle a set of signals.
  • Some items are confusing at first and it's not always intuitive or fully explained.
  • It's sometimes difficult for new players to figure out what's going on, or how to help the other players, when joining an existing multiplayer game. Some people feel a bit stuck because they don't know what they are supposed to be doing to scale up. It's best to play with people at about the same skill level.
