This is clearly an abandoned tech demo. But for under $1, sure can have a few hours of fun in it. Laughable to charge $7 for this at full price. This is a shell of a game, not even close to a full game haha

Great for being free

I don't see what's not to love! It's a fresh new take on souls in a new awe-inspiring universe. The mix of science and occult is a fresh take lore-wise, and this reverberates throughout the world for a nice new experience. Overall, it takes a lot of the good things from souls and almost none of the bad. Full disclosure there are still some glitches like bizarre ragdolling and shader mapping looking odd, but none have been detrimental to gameplay.


New stats, combat styles, status effects, unique armor/weapon designs. Map design is good, reminds me most of Bloodborne. Combat as well is more Bloodborne-esque.

Though, this game does a more Souls 1-esque approach of making it harder to travel between "bonfires" at the start. I like it personally, as it adds to the hardcore element of really making you explore the world and take on bosses you might not feel ready for. Can't wait for multiplayer!

I don't understand the negative reviews at all. Especially at this pricepoint. I played it for 6 hours straight from first launch. Very fun and definitely will capture you if it looks interesting.

Wow. Very impressed fun co-op/offline and even singleplayer experience.

EDIT: They are attempting to take this out of EA too early. Can't recommend it anymore.

It's fun but my god why do the textures have to look so ugly, and it seems poorly optimized for a GTX 1080 Ti struggling to get constant 60 fps at 1440p. Can some modder release a high res texture pack please?

This is a cool game and I wanted to give a thumbs up to support the dev. I think it could have great potential. Obviously if you are looking for a finished game right now, then stay away.

Problems:

1. Currently, combat is totally nuts (enemy AI Pathfinding will just stand and look at you sometimes as you beat them to death).
2. Progress through game feels slow, walk/run speeds take forever and the massive but fairly barren map doesn't help this. I think if we moved faster in the dev build, it would be a better experience.
3. Game is poorly optimized as my GPU reaches far higher temps running this than any of the other games I've played recently, to the point where I'm afraid to run it anything above 1080p (RTX 2080 Super btw).

Overall:
Good start, great idea for a game and looking forward to see how it changes more in updates. Currently its not finished and the flaws in enemy AI Pathfinding, and shader optimization are very prevalent. It looks like its made by a single person, so I'm giving it a thumbs up.

I'm going to have to change my review to thumbs down. Very little if anything has happened since March. It basically is a reskinned Warband with some very minor improvements. So much is missing from the base game that its not playable from an immersion standpoint without mods.

The idea of this game was to improve upon the original game, and add many features that were present in Warband only with the addition of mods. Things like expansive diplomacy, better character development, character interactions, faction interactions, etc. Bannerlord has not done any of these things (yet - and it's been out since March).

Bannerlord is a reskinned Warband with very few improvements. Is it worth it instead of Warband? I guess? But it has not really built upon the game in any major new way, and many features are missing to have an immersive experience.

There is NO DIPLOMACY whatsoever. You cannot make alliances, non-aggression pacts, or anything of the sort with other kingdoms. To me this is just unacceptable in itself, but from an immersion standpoint there are many features still missing, who knows if they will be added or not. I will update my review accordingly.

It's best RPG. Imagine Dark Souls with survival elements, but played out in a world similar to skyrim. This is the shortest way I could think to describe it because my attention span is too short right now to write a good review. Kthx buy it
