I have been a huge battlefield fan since BF3. Bought all of the games, DLC, premiums, etc. on both console and PC. BFV was bad in the beginning but compared to 2042 it is a masterpiece. 2042 is not a battlefield game. It is a battle royal game mutated into a battlefield game. It is extremely clear to me that this game was made by people who have never even played a battlefield game. This game could have been great, instead it is going to go the way of the Dodo and the ET video game.

You would think that with Season 1 finally coming out that this game would see a massive amount of changes, fixes, new content, and new maps. If you thought this, you would be wrong. Again, the developers have let the community down with a pitiful amount of changes, fixes, and content in the 6+ months this game has been out. I would not be suprised if EA and DICE have abandoned this game already and have gone on to a new project. I will not be buying the next battlefield game at this point. Being banned on BF4 due to a punkbuster false positive combined with the fact that the only other decent battlefield game that still has players is BFV, I think that my days of being a battlefield fanboy have passed.

Now that season 2 and 3 are out, I can honestly say that the game has finally gone in a positive direction. The game still has a ways to go however, more guns, maps, vehicles, and gadgets are required in order for it to meet my "good battlefield game" description. But, as of right now, the game is decent and shows promise and I am looking forwards to playing future seasons.

Well they did it. They somehow screwed up this game even more. Not only has the recent class "update" severly limited the amount of gear I am able to use for any specific specialist, it has also shoehorned in a system that was not even designed to be put in the game in the first place and has ruined the gameplay that I have enjoyed for the last year+ that this game has been out. This so called "update" has eliminated the wonderful sandbox environment that I have enjoyed since day 1. I could do anything and be anything, meta wasn't really a thing due to the insane variety of kits and specialists you could use and it was a sandbox military game dream. This game has now been ruined for a second time and unfortunately, due to the community being a bunch of idiots who only want to whine and complain, I fear that we will never return to the specialist system that I had come to enjoy.
