RANKING:
AVOID | LACKING | MAYBE | WORTHWHILE | COMPELLING | UNMISSABLE

SYNOPSIS:
ASSESSMENT:
My Sudoku is a faithful digital adaptation of the popular number themed puzzler. It brings a good amount of free puzzles to the table. Difficulty stacks up with size format. Since its a very basic version, no bugs or other problems were experienced. Some QoL to bring the experience up to modern gaming standards is welcome.

The only gripe is the cost of paid x31 dlcs required to prolong its longevity, since there is no daily puzzle generator. It doesn't have much wrong with it, but nothing really stands out. A solid title I'd only MAYBE consider when the whole package is on a hefty sale.
STATUS:
Fully released. Unlikely to receive many updates apart from, (I suspect) more paid content
APPEAL:
Only fans of Sudoku should consider playing it. And only if 100% completion isn't a problem
VALUE:
Core puzzles come free and provide 5-7hrs of play. x31 dlcs of extra content costs the eye-watering sum of £77/100 euros at full price

OBSERVATIONS:

► The PREMISE incorporates a free-2-play model with the well-established number puzzle format. Tacked onto the end is a substantial package of cash-in dlcs with many more puzzles.

► Free-2-play comes with x90 PUZZLES that span x3 size formats; 4x4, 6x6 and 9x9. Though only x1 difficulty. DLCs span a number of set difficulties and the same size formats.

► There is a fair amount of variation in puzzle starting positions. Though these are fixed for each specific puzzle.

► Players have the freedom to try any puzzle size at any time. However, puzzles within each category are unlocked sequentially once the previous puzzle is completed. Once beaten puzzles can be replayed whenever the player feels like it.

► There is no HINT feature, but each tile can be marked with possible candidates a player believes could fit, when it isn't clear what the actual number is. There are options to RESTART a puzzle being worked upon and a tool to CHECK for errors.

► AUDIOVISUALS are very basic. The visuals are purely functional. The background tune is relaxing, but instantly forgettable. Neither detracts or distracts from puzzle solving.

► Utilises a simple traditional UI that organises puzzles in an accessible format that is easy to use and well ordered. Keeps track of completed, unfinished or unattempted puzzles. Organises the paid for dlcs under their own button.

COMPLEXITY:
🔶 ACCESSIBILITY - A solitary tooltip explains the rules of the game. Those unfamiliar with the game and wanting more info, will need to reference other sources on the internet.
🔶 DIFFICULTY - 4x4 puzzles are a good match for beginners. The 6x6s are right for casual players. 9x9 puzzles provide some challenge.
🔶 BALANCE - Puzzles are perfectly balanced as they can be completed.
🔶 PACE - The player can choose which and when to play puzzles.
🔶 SCALING - The step up from 6x6 to 9x9 has the biggest leap in challenge.

STAYING POWER:
🟨 REPLAY VALUE - Limited to x90 free puzzles. Its possible to replay previously completed puzzles after some time has passed. Misses a daily puzzle generator, but that would stop the need to purchase dlc.
🟨 LONGEVITY - Free-2-play offers a couple of hours of gameplay at most. Ultimately this can only be extended by purchasing all x31 other paid dlcs. Otherwise 100% achievement completion isn't possible.

PRODUCTION:
🟣 QUALITY - No bugs encountered (without paid dlc). Unsurprising since its a very basic game with minimal features.
🟣 SETTINGS - No keys/controls remap. Can change music/sound, language and background colour, or toggle fullscreen.
🟣 STABILITY - No crashes experienced.
🟣 STEAM - Completion based achievements. Cloud saving. Overlay screenshot capture. No controller support.
🟣 OPTIMISATION - Run consistently at 54-60 fps apart from changing screens.
