What this game is: A lot of fun, and great framework for dedicated modders to bring you even more Battletech/Mechwarrior goodness. I haven't played Coop yet, but it's supposed to be pretty fun.

What this game isn't: Perfect. The missions, other than campaign and DLC mini campaign missions, are a grind and repetitive. It has/had it's fair share of bugs.

Conclusion: A good buy, you will get more than a couple dozen hours in before growing bored with the vanilla experience, which is all you can ask for with 50 bucks (current base price + DLC bundle). The modding community is active, despite this being more of a niche franchise. Shame about it's launch experience, and it's Epic exclusiveness at launch. But hey, Epic players just get to pay to be beta testers I guess.

It's Battletech, the basis of the Mechwarrior games. If you like them, this is the tactical turned based version of it.

If you like this sort of thing, its good

It's BloodBowl. If you like Warhammer Fantasy or have played GW board games, you will like this.

If you like Xcom, you will like this game. If not, you are wrong.

So far a reasonably faithful version of the game system and the campaign adventure path. A bit hard at points, which is refreshing, and I would have prefered a full turn based game since they went with the 3.5/PF game rules.
