Deathloop, or "what if a FPS/stealth hybrid was a puzzle game?"

It took a few hours to get past the prologue, then I really started digging it. Early game absolutely requires stealthiness. However, as you progress, you can certainly charge right in, guns blazing a bit more, and not get totally smeared. This game definitely has Arkane DNA, & can sometimes feel a bit Dishonored-ish, but much less bleak. It definitely scratches some of the same stealthy w firepower itch that other Arkane games have had in the past.

I don't usually enjoy repetitive metroidvania style level design where you have to keep going back to the same level, but Arkane made this game actually work (even for me) w just 4 levels.
Well, 4 time periods x 4 levels, which is kinda like 16 levels given how the environments change over the 4 time periods of the day. The underlying layout and architecture don't change very much for any single location across the entire day, but they do change enough to provide some interesting variety.

In fact, I feel like the repetition may actually make the game better in terms of the learning curve. The more you play, the better you remember the locations of important NPCs & things in the world.

This game is just pure fun (& games).

ETA:
but, sigh. the ending is not great. certainly doesn't live up to the sheer fun of the rest of the game.
