If you're looking for one of the best indie role-playing games, this is it. I honestly did not get how the reviews for this game were so good when the description and the gameplay video didn’t reel me in at all. I still decided to give Stardew Valley a shot despite this and I can say the 200+ hrs I have spent are all worth it. It only took 30 min of gameplay to get me hooked. The characters, the artwork, the farming, the fishing, and the planning are some of the aspects of the game that make it enjoyable and so addicting. The character interactions with the player feel real and they don't just sound like forced robot NPCs. You can make everyone in town hate you by giving them garbage as gifts and digging through their trash cans, or you can befriend them by constantly interacting with them and giving them their favorite gifts twice a week. You can even get married and have kids with any of the single male or female characters. Fishing in Stardew isn’t something that is boring like in many other games. Every fish moves in certain patterns & different speeds so this keeps it interesting. Planting your crops and watering them everyday until they finally grow is extremely rewarding due to the amount of money they rack in. You can raise as many animals as you want, but you also have to make sure they are being fed everyday. Everyday is a new adventure and you’ll never know what you may find while you’re mining, fishing, or just roaming around! Overall this game and its storyline is adorable and if you’re willing to take the time to read the dialogue and play through to the ending, the experience is unforgettable.

TL;DR: Just buy it.
