Controls can be a bit clunky, BUT...

If you like a well-paced, sophisticated STORY that builds up claustrophobic tension and horror - this is for you

Really enjoyable. The atmosphere and the characters are great and the story... left me on a bit of a cliffhanger that I really want to see the next part of :P

One of my favourite games of 2015. Note: You DON'T need to see any of the Mad Max movies to play this. The most recent film provides a bit of context at best, the prior 3... nope.

If I had to describe the mood... it's somewhere in between Fallout NV and GTA V. Grim, depressing post-apocalyptic survival where cars, gas and scrap are the source of all power and sway.

A lot of people have compared the fighting mechanics to the Batman games - this is where I disagree. While yes, they mechanically are pretty similar - in Mad Max they're a lot more satisfying and a lot more responsive (i.e. you're not shouting "I CLICKED THAT WITH PERFECT TIMING, WHY AM I LOSING MORE HEALTH?!")

Don't rush through the main story (even though it's an amazing narrative, much better than its recent movie) and wander around - discovering the Wasteland, trying to figure out what might have happened to it through history relics, scavenging and generally feeling awesome at the well-executed fusion of driving and weaponry - and you'll easily get dozens of hours out of this game. In my case it was 97 hours until I reached the end of the main quest - and I still have a few things left that I *WANT* to do.

My only criticism is that - as many hours as I got out of it (97 so far) - I wish there'd been more content in terms of side quests for example. Something perhaps future DLC could address?

Overall Mad Max surpassed my expectations and would highly recommend it to anyone of the post-apocalyptic genre. I'd give it a 9/10.
