Absolutely gorgeous art style and design
the story is cute in a grimdark kinda way
The bosses are interesting and designed quite interestingly
the mechanics feel a little clunky but once I got used to them, it was easier to enjoy
the map is just not it though. Really easy to get lost as to where you're going next
Still worth it if you can get it on sale though

I just couldn't get excited for this game after the first few runs. Felt slow and was lacking a lot of standard QoL features. Still fun enough if you can get it on sale

Really cool graphics. The mechanics don't really inspire any strong feelings. Fun way to spend some hours

An amazing little side scroller with the perfect amount of creepy vibes to have me jittery and nervous yet so intrigues that I can't help but keep playing through the fear. The hidden secrets are mostly natural feeling and a second playthrough to find them really helped the game settle into my psyche

amazing game, highly recommend
The first playthrough blew my mind and the second one still has a lot hitting hard. The additional content from Kaycee's mod is also spectacular and let's me replay so much more that I would otherwise

What an adorable little game
I really enjoyed myself while playing this. The mechanics are so smooth and I barely had any periods of time when my character didn't do exactly what I wanted. Honestly half the time he didn't, it was user error from frustration.
As a puzzle platformer, I think this is up there in my top ten mechanically.
The art style and combat were also pretty great. I believe the only two times I died were against the final DLC boss, which I think was a perfect amount of difficulty for the style. It felt cute and handled that way too. Maybe some of those void levels were a little too difficult to fit that word, but the challenge of moving platforms and timing wall runs, especially towards the end made me frustrated in the most perfect way.

All that being said, if you're looking for a story heavy game, or even something that feels particularly unique, you may want to keep moving. Personally, I was really hoping for more flavor with how well designed the character and art style were, but that's the one place this game was lacking. It didn't actually detract from the experience though and I'm really looking forward to any other platform puzzle heavy games the developer puts out.

Anime Souls is great.

The character creator is really fun. It's not as specific as a lot of modern games or MMOs but it has enough that you can get decently specific anime girls (or boys if you're into that).

The gameplay is very similar to other souls games, with a few changes, the biggest (and IMO best) change being the class system. You can find (or be given) new classes by progressing through the game and finding various collectibles. You can spend your exp equivalent on unlocking new abilities in said classes and once you've used them enough, you can use them across any class. The magic system in the game is also something I love as your magic (ichor) gets replenished by just battling, especially if you can get backstabs and parries.

If you like anime and dark souls you'll enjoy this
