I played Cold War or something but I gotta say that this ♥♥♥♥ is ass

running logi is pretty fun I gotta admit. Dying on the frontline to a direct mortar hit, not so much

Unlike other Paradox games, this one just drops you into the world without really explaining anything.
In CK3, you're guided through expansion and how the whole shabang works. EU4 is a little complicated but okay to understand, HOI4 just as much. This one? Barely any tutorial and way too high a learning curve for beginners (like me) to really do anything. In the 25 hours I've played this game, I haven't really done anything.

Even wars, which are always quite fun in Paradox games, are dull and way too complicated. You have a fully equipped army and just want to march down to some African country to expand? Nah man, an army 1/5th the size of yours is gonna trounce you.

Wouldn't recommend.

So I tried this piece of hot garbage with EA Play as to not waste 70 bucks.

- Commentary doesn't work, there's no audio and no ability to change commentary language (not even through the game's properties on Steam)

- Game runs extremely bad, even with framerate limit. The cutscenes are always very jittery.

- Camera settings are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful

To be very honest, this is a 98% re-release of Fifa 23 - as usual. Don't buy.


Edit: I forgot the, also as usual, god-awful looking players. If they're not featuring on the cover, they're looking like some standard character model.

complicated if you, like me, have never played a game like this.

it's fun tho

tested this with EA Play, glad to have dodged a bullet there. while it's missing the microtransactions (which is good), pennant races just aren't fun if you're pitted against people who, unlike yourself, have probably played every iteration of this series.

there are so many vampire survivors clones out there but this is legit close to being better than the original. being an early access game, this already has amazing character and ability variety.

the only two things to criticize are:

thirty minute runs without the ability to save
the boss in the first level having a timed instakill

quite possibly one of the best games ever made

i played through the whole game and i have to say, that this is probably one of the best games - from a story perspective - that's been released recently.
the combat is fleshed out to near perfection and, even on the normal difficulty setting, the fighting is still satisfying and challenging.

Merrin and Cal now finally being together is a huge plus, the story twist was exciting and the Cere v. Vader rematch was a sight to behold - although kinda difficult

i hate rancors

the fact that this game never goes on sale is a red flag
